There are some situations that you need manual to achieve a great result.
For example the S7 Edge has awful WHITE BALANCE. You can take 10000 pics and it will give you warm tons for all them. Also more brightness than reality.
You can only fix this with manual.
If a phone tends to underexpose shots, it always will. If a phone has warm tones, it will keep giving warm tones.
In low light, you need at least 0.5s Shutter and no phone will give you this on auto. Except the iphone with 0.25s.
Not even if it has OIS.
Even professional cameras have AUTO, but photographers dont use because they know it has weaknesses.

I'm just saying that 808 is not that good camera that some try to make believe us (most likely themselves). the "proof" of wrong values are ridiculous at best. If you read my comment till the end you will understand that I also have doubts about their scores. Usually what I do is compare myself the photos from different reviews. and give my own scores...Sometimes I agree, others not so. Glad we are all different.

Let m... moreDxo does not test 4K videos, just 1080p 30fps.
Then P20 is more stable than S9.
Problem with Huawei is much lower bitrate. Almost half of Sony/Samsung.

I believed in DxOmark until i saw pictures of the P20 Pro in comparison with Pixel2,Iphone X and GS9+.... Between the latter 3 there was maybe a subjective choice, but objectively the HW camera was by far inferior than them...

Well, your "proof" are just 3 pictures? They test more than 1500. Give us 808 low light comparison shots or indoors. 808 is only good for one type of scenario. If that type is more inportant for you, then its a freat phone, but they cant omit the other types. Saying this, i doubt also so scores....p20 plus is so oversharped that ruins most of the pictures...dont understand his rating.

Let me give you just a very short example.
Go look at p 20 pro video score and s9 plus video score
P 20 looks better on these scores right ?
Now go watch any side by side comparison .
Different story !
Go back and check stabilization score. P20 must be better right ?
Go back to the comparison . That stabilization that they rate so highly doesn't even work :)) but s9 plus has fain stabilization.
You see what I mean ?
These tests aren't very reresentative of real world usage of said phones.

While clearly in all these samples Nokia 808 had better details and should be scored higher.

That said HTC 11 is an awesome camera right up there with the Pixels.. HTC 12+ should excel too.. Just wait for GSMA review..
