Very very nice
MichaelHB, 24 May 2018A TOTAL marketing BULL$HIT, when you haven't reasons to use glass on back! If u want NFC &... moreIf you're a OnePlus user that use Dash Charger, you'll know that other charging is obsolete compared to other charging method including slowass wireless charging. But yeah you're iPhone user so you'll never know the feeling of satisfied for your phone to fully charge is 70 minutes from 5%. That's why we don't mind the non wireless charging on OP6 but the glass back is retard just like your phone.
RobbyRotten, 24 May 2018They dont want you to change the battery, they want you to buy a new phone from them!!!doesn't matter you have a legal right to get your handset repaired, they don't get a say so replace away.
They dont want you to change the battery, they want you to buy a new phone from them!!!
This means that modern smartphones are not worth anymore. (It depends on people, that's my opinion). :(
It could be easier still by offering completely removable battery ... but noooo, consumers hate infinite battery (seriously just by using a tiny internal battery you could even "swap" w/t rebooting).
Let's instead have the trie and overused glass back woth sealed battery:
Remove all ports (because people are dumb and would still try to charge)
Removable back where the battery is embedded, pops a plug and becomes rechargable.
All phones come with two backs (one to charge while you use the other)
The swap is seemless via software switch (no clunky buttons).
Phone's lights remain on during the swap due to a tiny internal battery.
Insta-charge, basically infinite battery (if you carry 1-2 backs/chargers w you)
The front face is already mostly fine (in current phones). Just remove the bottom bezel and the notch eventually (underscreen sensors/camera).
Ideally the phone is being controlled with eye tracking instead of fingers too. Easier for scrolling basic browsing.
Tech's here. Jobs's dead (or a jobs like character) so nobody is left to implement it).
But imagine that. A phone hat is compllete screen, complete battery (basically never needs charging).
The natural endpoint of phones. It needs 1-2 years to develop. We will make another decade to see it, because executives hate money especially when there is the slightest risk attached to it. They are happy with their annual 5%...
OnePlus 6 .. Ohhh OnePlus 6...
See. Phone that you make have the following flaws. (Either by cut cost or design)
1. Non water resistant rating.
2. No wireless charging.
3. Easy to reach and change battery.
Look at iFixit.. what does it look like when you remove the back? A simple removable battery phone.
Just Make a REMOVABLE back plate!
So you gain the following benefits for your customers:
1. Removable batteries. (Users can swap if they need or extended batteries)
2. Wireless charging backcover (So wireless is capable when needed)
3. More space so you can even add a micro SD slot if need be!!
MichaelHB, 24 May 2018To be honest with u, I'm with you only a 50%, is true u can use NFC behind a metal plate, the ... morewhat about the price of the wireless charger?
oh and you shouldn't be worried about breaking the cable you should be worried about dropping the phone of the table!
oh and worry about the fragile glass back shuttering after a short drop
and the regular cable is ALWAYS faster than the wireless one (don't get me start talking about the fastest charging and the ability to disable the charger when the battery is full to save power and to protect the battery (oh I just said it!!))
btw I am talking about the glass back marketing trick
they think that the customer are RETARDED enough to look at the phone and say "Oooooooo :O SHINY let's buy it!!" that is the problem (no offense you probably boght the iPhone X because you have enough money for Apples "future phone" And the wireless charger)
you said your opinion BUT sadly the wireless charger and glass back are practically PROVING to be useLESS
oh I miss motorolas grippy rugged back panel :'(
AND it is both NFC and wireless charging capable ;)
AnonD-744321, 24 May 2018I don't really know if you're with me or against me ;:0 any way let's set couple a things str... moreTo be honest with u, I'm with you only a 50%, is true u can use NFC behind a metal plate, the signals required to identity or transmit data ny NFC are fast & shorty. But really wireless charging is not how u said, depends about each one if some see it useful or not, many of us...like me. I use wireless charging with my iPhone X in my night table, when I wake, only take the phone and go, without care about blend cable or broke connector tighting the cable, the cable is only in my computer XD when I need transfer files or backup. Try to don't generalize your opinions, not everyone thinks like U, have a nice day :). End of history.
LG Superfan, 24 May 2018NFC works with metal backs and wireless charging is kind of uselessI think u do not read all replies. My last sentence in my reply says: "they should have used polymeric plastic or anodized aluminium." I never said about "do not use metal". Have a nice day :).

any way let's set couple a things straight :-
1) wireless charge is BULL$HIT
it is magiclly useLESS you can't have fast charging with it and you need to have ether the slippy fragile fingerprint magnet glass or the ugly weak low quality plastic
2) if you want the NFC antana there is many MANY ways to hide it behind the full metal unbody (Samsung and Motorolas style are the best)
3)I heard that the NFC can work with full metal unbody (look up ;)
5 is ok for glass back
AnonD-744321, 24 May 2018another prove to you dear consumers };$) the glass back is TOTAL marketing BULL$HITA TOTAL marketing BULL$HIT, when you haven't reasons to use glass on back! If u want NFC & wireless charging, only u can use polymeric plastic or glass, metal backs disrupts EM fields from wireless charging, and generate electric current through cellphone's ground circuits, but also plastic cracks along time, remember all plastic back covers of samsung galaxy s3, seems a lot of spider webs, they should have used polymeric plastic or anodized aluminium.
another prove to you dear consumers };$)
the glass back is TOTAL marketing BULL$HIT
