Shui8, 27 May 2018Havent heard kingroot? The apps root your phones without unlock bootloader your phone. Once ro... moreKingRoot has long been a source of controversy in the developer community, with allegations of malware baked into the rooting app. The purpose of the app is to act as a one-click-root solution for as many phones as possible. While the app does indeed successfully root a massive number of compatible devices, many users warn that you should not trust this app.
XDA Recognized Developer gatesjunior writes:
KingRoot now installs a ton of Adware on your device
KingRoot takes over your lock screen now and splatters ads on it
KingRoot’s Uninstall does NOT remove everything they have modified on your device SuperSU replace method does NOT remove everything they put on it either
KingRoot intentionally ads multiple binary files to your /system/bin folder that have nothing to do with their rooting method and are even back dating them to try and hide them
AVG has reported this and even warns of possible personal information gathering, that is NOT just a warning of rooting exploits
KingRoot has now included a Wifi option within their latest version under tools, what do you think they are gathering there ?”
Malloy, 08 Jul 2018Is possible to unlock BL via. DC-Unlocker? I tried this was in May and I unlocked my HW Mate 1... moretried dc unlocker 2 client, hcu latest version, ... the dc unlcoker did detected every detail of my honor 10 perfectly fine like it 99% of the process then i get an error code 375. (android version not supported) even though i dont see how that affects bootloader since bootloader initializes before rom.
Is possible to unlock BL via. DC-Unlocker? I tried this was in May and I unlocked my HW Mate 10 Pro plus I did rebrand this device. Success
DC-Unlocker (for Bootloader unlock), FunkyHuawei (for rebrand and root)
The ease of unlocking the bootloader and flashing a custom rom is literally the primary reason I bought a Huawei. Guess I'm switching brands for my next phone.

Anonymous, 25 May 2018Really? So show me how you root without unlocking the BootLoader on at least Android 7+Havent heard kingroot? The apps root your phones without unlock bootloader your phone. Once rooted with kingroot, u can install TWRP via adb, after got TWRP, flash Super SU zip file and replace the kingroot with it. Done.
bref, 25 May 2018Root has nothing to do with bootloader unlocking. And how do you want to unlock the bootloader... moreHow would you flash Super SU then without a recovery (TWRP or Clockwork), which needs the bootloader to be unlocked?
Anonymous, 25 May 2018Eh? Warranties voided if bootloader unlocked? Unlock bootloader is crucial for Chinese phone... moresadly yes at least in my country(india) and maybe in US too. only in europe, EU laws do not allow that kind of game that the brands play. the website clearly mentions once bootloader unlocked warranty is voided and you get no support from them since that day until you pay. only xiaomi and one plus do not void warranty.
Shui8, 25 May 2018One can always root the phone without unlock the bootloader, bare in mind for that differences... moreReally? So show me how you root without unlocking the BootLoader on at least Android 7+
Removing features, hardware & or services is the WORST choice for anything ever made.
Consumers don't want something if it is deprived of something...
WHY IS THAT SO HARD TO COMPREHEND?
Weak hardware. Now stuck with locked bootloader. I was considering p20 pro if mi 8 is a failure. Waiting for Mi 8
This is why i will not buy another huawei phone. They make their phones extremely hard to impossible to unlock(which requires unlocking the bootloader) and/or root, not to mention if your phone crashes you get no help from them!!!!!!
One can always root the phone without unlock the bootloader, bare in mind for that differences... Unlock bootloader only useful so that u can use custom kernel and custom based rom.
As for me, emui is good enough, lots of customisation when people calls it with ugly icon (dude, there are hundreds huawei themes with many icons ui can be selected) really cant understand why people hates it. Also install nova launcher if u dont like it.
Yeah, i used to root and unlocked bootloader my previous older phones and plays with it, but not with emui, i rather stay with stock. And that triple camera setup, only stock huawei's rom can fully utilised it while custom or 3rd party app only uses the single rgb sensor. So yeah, go figure.
Tucking Fypo, 25 May 2018totally possible. your warranty is not void until you write "fastboot oem unlock THE_KEY" and ... moreEh?
Warranties voided if bootloader unlocked?
Unlock bootloader is crucial for Chinese phone. I unlocked mine day one. So I can root and debloat+adaway. The only way it's okay without ubl is when it comes prerooted
Techfan21, 25 May 2018Can't you just unlock the bootloader when u get the phone And continue to use stock OS That ... moreRoot has nothing to do with bootloader unlocking. And how do you want to unlock the bootloader when Huawei shuts this service down? You're either stuck with a locked bootloader or you find some vulnerabilities to get bootloader unlocked without Huawei services.
dat's god no messing with phones anymore ! even iphone jailbreak is dead
Jason Melling, 25 May 2018BS. If they provided quality service people would not need to flash custom ROMs.If that were true then Google's phones wouldn't be at the very top of requests for customs ROMs. There is more to it than just trying to save a crappy phone with a crappy ROM from the garbage can, there is also the whole side of people who actually care about developing the ecosystem, being at the very edge of stuff, care for privacy and security, as well as endorse the Open Source movement.
