Apple seems to have more and more problems with their devices that they keep quiet about and only when the the problems get bigger then they act like they knew nothing and offer a fix, for a price, that is, for this user issue but not a previously known device flaw.
Apple marketing is one of the most cunningly decietful geniuses making that money by tricking the consumer and then locking them and everyone they know into their ecosystem.

Its just like the car mechanic.

Just look at the battery throttling issue on their iphones and their excuses they made about it.

Look at their macbook pro keyboard issues currently and their excuses and solutions.
It is ridiculous.
You dont become one of the most profitable companies by being honest, but by looking like your you care and making the seemingly best products on the market with planned or unplanned, but known inherent problems due to “user handling”.

I just wish their was another player in the market beside android and apple because im still with this iphone due to everyone i know having one,but im really getting sick and tired of tthis company...

"Independent repair experts speculate that this is caused by the touch IC chip"

As a smartphone repair technician, I can assure you that no one is "speculating" on anything. I have done at least 20 of these repairs, and we KNOW for a FACT that it's the lack of over-bracing protection on the logic board that causes the BGA array to become unseated when the phone bends. BTW, Apple people, the phone has an aluminium-based chassis, so OBVIOUSLY it's prone to bending. Please stop acting like Apple can do no wrong. If that were the case, then I wouldn't be in business. The problem here is that Apple didn't take the necessary steps to protect the SMC's from the stresses of chassis deformation. The simple fact that they remedied it with the 6S series, AND newer iPhone 6 and 6 Plus' was sketchy, but now we have documents PROVING their indifference toward their customers.

Also, I can definitely attest to the 6 Plus being more prone to Touch IC disease than the 6. Same thickness, but more surface area = easier to deform. It's simple physics.

The best way to do the repair is to remove the touch IC, remove ALL of the solder on the IC and the logic board, and replace it with lead-based solder paste via a reball stencil. Then you should use a bracing adhesive to keep the IC from experiencing excessive mechanical stresses when (not if) the frame starts bending/deforming again. This is what they did on the 6S (and newer 6's) to prevent it from happening on newer devices (minus the lead-based solder of course).

The best solution to that problem is to just buy a feature phone. No need to worry about software updates, poor battery life and such. xD

They are greedy crooks, it is as simple as that.

But I simply do not understand why people still buy anything from them.

Apple knew that processor power is lowered on purpose after few years. But, Judge Koh wont do anything, because she is on Apple's side. Just like in previous 1 billion dolar case where she made Samsung pay Apple.

There is literally a machine designed to test exactly what amount of force in newtons will cause the phone to bend. Of course they knew.
