I'm employed by a huge European mobile sales/distribution company; so here is some news folks.
Broken down ordering stats of Smartphones forward order for the next Q are as follows (by OS)
Windows = 7%
iOS = 16%
Android = 65%
Bada = 8%
Symbian = 4%
Windows will have a presence, but this 7% is an optimistic order. So far this OS has not only underperformed, but is mostly unrecognized as a mobile system.
Next, iOS is in line with sales figures we saw in Q1 and more so in Q2 with iOS loosing ground to Android. And includes an initial expected surge of buyers for the iPhone 5. Our option to increase orders looks likely with Android even more for next year, perhaps closing in on a 70% market share.
Bada is the big surprise and will be a solid budget VFM handset. Bada is increasingly popular and fills the gap left by Web OS, worth noting that Bada is leading or customer satisfaction tables and we have less returns than any other handset.
Simbian continues it's presences, but sales forecasts look bleak.

I think those reaserch companies doing bullshit. yesterday they release a report Android is the 1st at markert. today they release a report symbian is the 1st. do they think customers are same as mad donkies like them....

I have the upto date leaked symbian belle and it is really that good I just love it, I was thinking of going android but not now,
as symbian belle has proved itself worthy of the competer.....
I think symbian belle will finaly rule the smartphone market...
dont know why they are going to go windows phone
I suppose it is just up to choice,...

android took 1 year to jump 3 places, so it needs 4 months to jump to the first place.
Symbian got it is big chance but in the last year (before android) they have freezed with out any progress, and all the new virsions (Belle and Anna) are a cpoy/paste of android.
