Alternatively two GPS modules could used for extremely high precision location detection. This has been done before, but no in a smartphone. We know that later in 2018 we should see smartphones with Broadcom BCM47755, which provides centimeter accuracy for GPS by using newer L5 GPS frequency (finally there are enough satellites in the sky to use it).

i don't get the dual GPS thing either, unless they support different standards/technologies for better accuracy around the world, like Europe's Galileo. though seeing how other phones without advertised dual module have them all, this doesn't really seem necessary. having two active modules would also double the battery drain from GPS. and having data parity from two modules right next to each other can't make a difference either, can it? so... idk. just desperate marketing following the "more = better" paradigm?
