Anonymous, 28 May 2018Thank god, there is one sensible phone-maker out there who doesn't jump on the notch-bandwagonOh yeah, 'cause they have curved sides instead, which is a nightmare to install screen protectors properly on, and IMO is even worse than a notch.
At least with notch, there are ways to somehow hide it and make it inexistent.
I'll be waiting for something to somehow hide the curved side edges. It really just feels awkward.
Curved glass on most other phones are already a disaster to install screen protectors on, and I don't expect on even more curved glasses to be any better.
Those curve and no notch. Totally disappointed.
No notch means yesterday design.
I am already tired of note 8 and S9 design.
And samsung will charge >$1000 for a phone with yesterday design.
Not good. Very not good :(((((((
Anonymous, 28 May 2018No notch and people are happy...easy money for Samsung.No. I am not happy. Make it flat and give a proper notch.
3850 or more mAh battery + SD 845 or EXYNOS 9810 + No Notch = Perfect Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Note 7 battery problems apart
Otherwise Samsung galaxy note series is the perfect phone in the market . waiting for note 10

Any oem that doesn't submit to the dark side aka notch phenomenon deserves praise.

Should be flat

They've been using their consistent , quite-stand-out symmetrical design for years , even their first-attempt less bezel trend on their newest Ambient Flow Design this year as proof Sony skipped the notch+chin bandwagon trend (you can argue with mine tho :p) . Still , kudos to Samsung , HTC and Sony for doing "Against The Tide" way .
No surprise, this is a Samsung tradition they only make major change once per 2 years,it's been already a major hop from note5/7 to note8,so note9 will have minimal change,it also manifested in s9/s9+.
Nice to see Samsung refusing to jump on the notch trend like a mindless lemming. Too bad it's not pushing the envelope like Lenovo and to an extent Vivo.
I know, Samsung prefers making the big changes on the S series as that's the big seller. But, can they really afford waiting that long this time around?

Yup, nothing changed outside. Just only incremental but important changes inside to make it more productive for certain consumers. :)
