If you added wireless charging and a bigger battery (3800 mah) then this would be forgiven. But no $5 dollar adapter included I mean c'mon seriously HTC. You're making hardcore fans like myself lose interest

I don't like the idea of not having the minijack ... moreNot a minor issue for me since my car stereo needs the jack too, and i need to be able to charge it while listening.
Plus, countless of "minor" issues make a HUGE issue, especially if you're paying huge money. Wake up and stop being an obedient servant to these evil and insane corporations.

I don't like the idea of not having the minijack but all I had to do was to snap the adapter to my headphones. No issues since then, just plug them in and turn on the music.
So I'd say lacking the jack is a minor issue. On-screen buttons are a minor issue. Glass back is a minor issue. Even the notch is a minor issue. Sometimes even a single SIM, lack of waterproofing and lack of SD card can be tolerated. Damn, even big size and poor battery life and poor camera can be overlooked in certain conditions.
Deciding not to buy any phone with this particular flaw is dumb. There is no perfect phone on the market. As close as my own new phone is to perfection, it has no jack. But does it mean that I'd rather choose one of the inferior phones just because they have it? Nope, of course.

I really don't understand how we got to this point. I can't deal with this level of nonsense. When the phones got good, companies decide it's time for them to devolve.
They suddenly make then less repairable, remove replaceable battery and the universal audio connector and start mutilating the screens. All these while continuously increasing the price of the devices.

In 10 years or more, the image will be projected into our eyes and we'd have to purchase the screen separately.. then they'd eventually stop selling screens little by little.

I mean, they cripple the device on one hand and on the other hand they spend more money to make the phone/package than they would if they put a 3.5mm jack.

I wonder if it sounds bette... more Even though I am a fan of headphones with 3.5 mm cords, I definitely forsee a time in not too distant future in which igh end, mid range, and low budget usb-c earphones and headphones are plentiful and readily available at retail stores and online retailers.
