    All Android face unlock is unsafe and can be spoofed hence Apple using dot projection and time of flight sensors and it being more secure than fingerprint. It's more a gimmick to make customers feel they're getting the same features. Use fingerprint or pin codes, if face unlock is that important get a iPhone X.

                  I mean, what did people expect? It only takes a picture of your face and stores it in the phone

                    I thought this was known from day 1, as it does not have depth sensing? The good thing is that Androids have not *removed* fingerprint scanners. In fact, Vivo and others are moving towards incorporating fingerprint readers in the screen itself.

                    Facial profiles/contours, in any case, are too public to be used for authentication.
