Depends on if root is necessary and how long you expect to have the device, ATT variant phones are notorious for locked bootloaders. The 820 is way more powerful processor wise but might not be as battery efficient as the 400 series. Plus I believe the v20 will only go up to Android P, whereas this phone will obviously get more updates since its newer. I'd assume the v20 also has a few more features in the camera department but its probably similar overall.
