For what purpose you nee... moreIt is much much much faster transferring your files from one device to another with the sd card rather than the shitty MTP over USB.
IPXX protection is always good to have, either you swim or not smarty pants.
Would you rather accidentally get bumped and have your phone die in a puddle of water or rather it surviving the drop?
It's inexcusable in 2018 for a device to have no IPXX protection, end of story.

ZF5Z is for old school aficionado who prefers theirs to be a huge memory bank (w/ the inclusion of microSD card slot) + a jack for old school, yet tried and true audio performance, while Mi8 is for those who wanna ditch those old school features in favor of cutting edge features, like the IR face unlock + in screen fingerprint scanner. Both of em have notch and a SD845, has better performance than most phones running 845 as their SoC, and has a nice camera that, while not being a cutting edge tech compared to, say, S9+ or P20 Pro, is still super reliable than most of the competition. Both even have the same nits, and DCI-P3 certification, although Mi8 goes w/ AMOLED, while ZF5Z goes w/ IPS. It's like comparing T'Challa's suit w/ Killmonger's suit, to say the least imho.

Xiaomi copied Apple as much as Apple copied the original creators... you either have both companies as copy-cats or you have none. Trying to assert otherwise is voicing own's lack of knowledge, which demands correction (so that said knowledge is acquired) rather than "deal with it" as in let history be rewritten by passiveness.

No. How many people know these companies makes phones, or whether Essential exists? Apple is synonymous with the notch trend because they mainstreamed it. Get over it.

Anonymous, 31 May 2018Miui software is the reason for its success, use it before commentingIndeed. People whine how "bloated" it is, but for me, it's the reason I might stick with Xiaomi. It looks nice, it's fast and has a lot of really neat useful features through entire phone, like integrated weather, data usage monitor to other tiny features like integrated firewall/app control so you can block apps from connecting from the phone. Something you usually need root and extra app is already integrated here.
