I have the mi-8 lite (64 gb onboard storage)
The dual sim card tray allows me to use my 32 gb sd chip.
It is not perfect however as some apps can access the data easily
some do not be able to. I have no idea why this is so.
I did get a file manager app which allows me to easily edit copy paste files
that will not work properly.
My Mort player audio book app can not see the sd chip
most of my other apps are fine.
I bot the phone nov 2018 in Hanoi Vietnam for use in Kanada.

20MP at 2µm pixel size and it would be a monstrous sensor, never fit on a phone for a front cam.
Actually, Mi 8 SE's front cam is powered by a 1/3" Samsung S5K3T1, which is 20MP at 0.9µm pixel size.
You can't called it 1µm (so you got that 2µm typo) only because you could integers it. 20MP @1µm means a 1/2.8" sensor, like Exmor IMX376 that equipped on Redmi Note 5, Oneplus 6 and 5T.

And as far as I know, pretty much all Mi series phones (especially the flagship, not the upper-midrange ones) doesn't come with it, so it's hardly a surprise. Nonetheless, 64GB (50GB user storage) is still fine for today's use, although I hoped someday Xiaomi will broke this tradition and start selling their flagship phones with microSD card slot on it :D

No other phones use that but they rather use the watered down but actually superior (in common with every phones rated overwhelmingly positive by DxOMark) sensors. Sensors like IMX 363 or anything below IMX 400.
