zillion, 01 Jun 2018Why so many people hates dxo mark? Because your phone didn't perform high on camera score? For... moreNo not because of low score of phone we are using, but because their working style. If they are neutral and not paid by companies than where are Sony xz2 series? Ohh I think they don't know about release of those phones right?

All our phones camera are not even perfect even the Xiaomi MI 8, iPhone X, Google pixel 2, Samsung Galaxy S9, etc; that scored very high. The only camera that's perfect is not the DSLR, but our "Human Eye sight", Lmao!!!!

Anonymous, 31 May 2018I don't doubt that. Even its predecessor U11 is not a letdown. U11+ mightily pars with P20 Pro... moreActually if you pixel peep, U11+'s outputs show more details than P20 Pro. If you use it with Google's Gcam, it could beat any phone out there. P20 Pro has good exposure control for low light and all, but the pixel quality is simply inferior due to heavy post processing.

The gsmarena camera samples are taken on tripod, on tripod, on tripod. You won't get the same result in every day usage if you don't bring along a tripod.

While clearly in all these samples Nokia 808 had better details and should be scored higher.

DxO = paid advertisement

"The main drawbacks of the device when it comes to still images is the loss of detail even in broad daylight and minor inconsistencies with the autofocus, white balance and depth detection in bokeh mode. The most prominent one, though, is color fringing."

Ok. So much for DxoMark scores..... Total BS there.

zillion, 01 Jun 2018Why so many people hates dxo mark? Because your phone didn't perform high on camera score? For... moreBecause DXOmark mobile ratings/rankings are not credible. They are not third party verifiable, their 'weighted' rating system is not clear cut and transparent and they collaborate with phone companies who sponsor tests and as such have clear conflict of interest. Dxomark mobile collaborates with their sponsors to make the phone get better ratings. It's no wonder why today you have a Xiaomi topping, then iPhone next, then Pixel's turn, then Samsung's turn, then Huawei's turn then repeat cycle. If there's a new brand sponsor, it will be included in the taking of turns for the top spot. And there really is no way to confirm side by side the actual image quality among 'topnotchers' because DXOmark mobile does not use the same test scene, test subject and test conditions from one camera phone to another and regularly revise their weighting system. If you are serious about photo quality, use Gsmarena's photo compare tool. Try checking 'top rated' phones as ranked by DXOmark mobile, here, side by side using Gsmarena's photo compare tool and you'll be surprised how DXOmark mobile ever came up with such skewed rankings and ratings.

Why so many people hates dxo mark? Because your phone didn't perform high on camera score? For good, average or bad camera it depends for each of the users. Dxo mark just testing all the aspect for a photos and video quality.

I agree, AI cameras are generally too aggressive in processing the image. Also I'm very disappointed about color fringing, and for me a problem like this should put the xiaomi mi 8 in a much lower position.

I've stopped trusting DxO since their "new" protocol. But it looks like it's now even worse. I don't understand how, but all the best marks are now (primarily) given to these "AI" camera but these are the worst I've seen so far.

U11+ mightily pars with P20 Pro on GSMA's camera comparison. Wew! And I thought no one has noticed U11+'s prowess to this day until just right about now
