Impressive hardware for the price, you have to give to Xiaomi. But to think it will make better pictures than S9+ more than naive :). Still you get a lot for the money, I would go for top one explorer. For 500 euros you get more than iPhone X, no brainer :)

xiaomi messed up the phone sizes. mi 5 & 6 were best sized phones for all kinds of users. due to full view notch display, the display size is already big. why making the phone even bigger and uncomfortable to hold I have no idea. and the smaller one has comparatively poor screen to body ratio and inferior specs. they are losing an entire customer segment I think!

Well the most liked will be Explorer for sure.
But i can assume that these cowards will say NO SD Card Slot like they need any on 256GB version.
No Jack like is something important these days.
An chnina made like they dont know that 40% of all mobilephones around the globe are made by Foxconn China. Samsung Apple Sony and many more are made here.

Mi was my favourite phone, until they removed the 3.5mm jack. Then I jumped to OnePlus. I have my old mi 5, that I still use on a secondary no, my mom has a mi note 4, and my gf has a mi5s, we are mi fans, but the lack of that Jack makes it hard to choose it.... They should rethink this. The usb-c earphones are not all that popular

as a OnePlus fan , I have to admit that Mi 8 is worthy than OP... moreI agree miui has improved than before but their Indian developers are just bad, see the track record of the recently launched Redmi note 5 pro.
As for treble, as long as the never release the camera blobs, custom ROMs are a no-no. Also there's no usable 3rd party dualcam camera app on Android

I've paid much more for my phone, but I'm happy now. It has much more comfortable software, so I don't have to unlock bootloader, root it or flash custom firmware, it is usable out of the box. It has much more comfortable body, so I can use it single-handed. And it is much more reliable, it has IP68 protection, so I can use it everywhere.

Explorer looks really nice, but 150mm+ is too much..
