For those who hate the idea of quad-core processor on mobile, it's not mandatory to buy those future devices. Don't hate this processor for this will be built not for you but for those who really need it. If you want single/dual cored phone, then you got many phones to choose from, they are already in the market.

TC, 16 Sep 20112.5 GHz quad-cores by the end of this year! Nokia will release their first WP7 by the end of ... morewhat's the use of quad core in an android phone, when it cant even maximize the power of dual core. just a lil tweaks and let's see what android future will be with the wp7.

TC, 16 Sep 2011Android is evolving to keep up with the hardware-development, and soon we will not need Window... moreThis is not possible, just because MAJOR software developers works win Microsoft, I can't Imagine Android running Adobe Premiere, Autocad or Photoshop PRO. Maybe they just got the Hardware but the OS is just wrong for that use....
So this idea is just plain wrong....
Seriously. It's a phone. This is all unnecessary. Who needs quad core in a phone...nobody. 75Mbps download? How many times do anyone need to download a movie to your phone in 4 seconds???
This is all getting silly.
Idolatry if you ask me.
raz1, 16 Sep 2011they will ,it's ... inevitable ! :)ya .. Im really hoping that they do by early next year lol
me, 16 Sep 2011wow is there actually any point of a 2.5 quad? i mean really? i thought dual core was a bit... moreThey said up to 2.5ghz. Most likely it may be underclocked for most phones due to small batteries. But they may keep the 2.5ghz processing speed for tablets.
wow is there actually any point of a 2.5 quad?
i mean really? i thought dual core was a bit overkill
Stop focusing on processing speed - we have more than enough for a phone. Focus on POWER CONSUMPTION so we can have at least a week of heavy use on a smartphone.
"Smartphones" IMO are not as "smart" as the "old" "feature" phones which got the job done without bloated OSs like Android and gimmicky graphics and touch-screens.
i need a phone for making calls, texting..and simple multitasking.and long battery life.no need to go and match-up against a personal computer or a laptop..phones right now becomes everything you need, but it also becomes more of a toy than a useful communicating device
PowerVR GPU will still be the king,SGX6 Rouge WILL defeat Adreno3XX again.
raz1, 16 Sep 2011I think it's a good ideea to push the limits of the CPU+GPU because this is progress ,in 1998 ... moreMy man!. Comparing nokia's small cpu and os with samsung's heavy cpu and os is like comparing the Ultimate Euro's V12 engine with the Bugatti's wastefull W16 engine,so much power low efficiency. Yet ultimate euro runs faster and cost less just like symbian work faster, cost less resourses and suck less battery juice.
Anon, 16 Sep 2011Seriously... People are living in LaLa land if they think a phone can maintain decent battery ... moreMost laptops that are able to play the latest games do not have enough battery life, so smartphone-users will probably do as they do with their laptop when playing games..., plug in the power cable.
Anonymous, 16 Sep 2011if the new generation of the smartphones will be equiped with a 2.5ghz quad we dont need andro... moreAndroid is evolving to keep up with the hardware-development, and soon we will not need Windows 7 or Ubuntu or... on our laptops anymore, because Android will soon be all we need!
Seriously... People are living in LaLa land if they think a phone can maintain decent battery life while trying to encode full HD video/games on a 4.5" 1280*960 screen with high fidelity sound. Then again, Google have fanboys convinced they can alter the laws of physics, so who am I to argue. lmfao...
