My Lumia 525 has the same app. It helps to take better low light pictures.

Does this software update also improve the image quality of the Nokia 8?

Im hoping they are using this stock android gimmick to focus on developing their line up and distribution. Hopefully, in a few years people will see how boring plain android is and demand the extra features found in custom UIs of other companies.

Dude, they just started again last year with stock android , why did you jump to conclusion?

took 2 years? , until they ported the app? what? did you even consider that maybe
they just think it like a month or a week ago to port the camera app? Genius.

Sam, 31 May 2018Ok, but the Lumia-style control will not increase the size of the tiny and mediocre sensors...... moreBut image processing can unlock the full potential of a camera sensor.. Look at sony camera software with sony sensor produces garbage pictures.. While others use the same sony sensor can get much better picture quality

They are only in their second year now. I’m not too interested in their products thus far (hate stock Android), but I’m more than confident that they will keep improving and can fight the big boys from 2019/2020 onwards.

Otherwise you would know that there is no need to 'pull' all rings at the same time.

Those controls were really accurate to maneouver, with a decent margin between tuners, and there was no way to interfere with a second tuner while you're moving one. Some options even showed how the image was changing in real time.

Aadrian , 31 May 2018Best camera interface Did you ever tried to use such interface? I'm sure - never. I used it on 920 and 1520 lumias and it's worst they could do ever. Just try to slide controls exactly as you need and don't touch other sliders. I understand that other sliders disappear while adjustment for berrer view of pic, but finger will hide half or even more of screen.
By the way, how many years it take to imitate old camera app? Almist 2 years? Or even more? It tells by itself - HMD/Foxconn coders are quite unprofessional.

it doesn't change anything, it's just there. they ported the one from sirocco.

Ok, but the Lumia-style control will not increase the size of the tiny and mediocre sensors... next time put bigger and good sensors to take the phones into consideration. And then after some reviews it'll be a probable sale if the prices are properly or reasonable...
