They dont care about your personal life, for them every user is just number.

They get money from you by checking what are looking for on internet, what music you listen, what things you buy, they gather those informations and sell them to other companies that put personalized ads on your devices.
The same with social media, they dont care if you are in relationship or have new haircut. They gather informations about what you post, buy, talk about, and sell those info for personalized ads.

Of course its not the same, first one is more portable, for one person usage, with limited space where they cram a number of sensors, while speaker is used at home, can be used by multiple users at once, you got no extreme size restrictions and all it needs is basically cpu, mics, speaker and connection to internet.
If its about smart products, brands like samsung can do it on their own, as they offer such products. Wonder about the others...

Hard to say anything when they put those little spies in shops cheaper than diner for 2 people. :]
Also hard to say anything when OEMs try to sell smartwatches as small phones putting there too much when it have smaller battery than vape cigarette...
