Dear Nokia, make it a 6+ inch screen with 5000mAh battery and Android One. Unlocked for all North American carriers and include LTE Bands 66 and 71. Charge $400 for it. Sell many.
CrAcKeZ, 05 Jun 2018Geekbench 5.200? ..if the others have 5.000 and 5.800, this should be 6800-8000
"According ... moreSure... if it was to ARM's specifications.
You realise Qualcomm deliberately cuts down the cache, and has a much loose memory timing/latency on these budget chips?
The QSD 636 is great/acceptable as a SoC for the low-midrange class (>$200). However, the QSD 660 is almost like an overclocked version of it. The QSD 660 should perform much better, yet it loses to the old QSD 820. The QSD 710 is slightly less cut-down offering, but remember it is a DUALcore chip, it doesn't have x4 cores like its Big Brother or Predecessors.
Just trying to state the facts, even if the facts are not what we want to hear :(

"According to ARM, the A75 is expected to offer 16–48% better performance than an A73"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_Cortex-A75
P.S. Also increased performance due to shrinking 4nm down, so expect more than 16-48% performance so you should get the highest performance of these three
Anonymous, 05 Jun 2018This is so much faster than 660 and absolutely different beast than 636 that not likely! This ... moreIn case you didn't know, Qualcomm killed the QSD 670 and instead announced the QSD 710 and when they did so, they changed a few things.
QSD 636: ~$15, 14nm, Adreno 509, 1.8GHz x4-Cortex A73 + 1.8GHz x4-Cortex A53
QSD 660: ~$25, 14nm, Adreno 512, 2.2GHz x4-Cortex A73 + 1.8GHz x4-Cortex A53
QSD 710: ~$30, 10nm, Adreno 616, 2.2GHz x2-Cortex A75 + 1.7GHz x6-Cortex A53
If you want a (very) rough estimate of their benchmark performance:
QSD 636: Geekbench 5,000, GB Single-core 1,400, Antutu 110,000.
QSD 660: Geekbench 5,800, GB Single-core 1,600, Antutu 120,000.
QSD 710: Geekbench 5,200, GB Single-core 1,800, Antutu 170,000.
I prefer the simplicity, economy and superior cpu performance of the QSD 660. Though remember buck-for-buck the QSD 636 is the best value of the trio, and even better value is the ageing QSD 625 that is popping up on $100 phones. However, the QSD 710 does come with a slightly better co-processors (sound, image, radio) and the GPU is noticeably faster in the QSD 710. It has better latency, which helps give it a much better Single Core performance. And the worst advantage is that Qualcomm agrees to officially support the drivers/kernels of the new chipset for an extra year over the older QSD 660. They Qualcomm neutered the QSD 710 and reduced it to a Dualcore, because they realised it would cannibalise their other products (QSD 835 and QSD 845) if it remained in a Quadcore layout...that's consumer un-friendly.

But new 7 version is possible. X6 was allready released this year, 7+ has allready been released this year. So there Are not Many candidates. Maybe Nokia Ncage ;) so completely new series from the old Nokia platform.
If the global version of x6 had this chip that would be great.
Also, Nokia is missing any true flagship at this time. Sirocco misfires on several points unfortunately. I wanted to want. So will wait to see what the rest of the year brings. Fingers crossed.
Anonymous, 04 Jun 2018New Nokia 8 ? or new Nokia 7 ? or perhaps the nokia x7 ?Depends on if there will be 9 and or 10 versions...
But 7.1 would be my best estimation or 7.1+... I hope that it will be normal 7.1 though because 7 was reasonable sized phone unlike its huge siblins...
Dear Nokia
make it like Nokia 6x dimensions and ditch the ugly notch. Use Nokia 7plus design. Ok, thanks!
Nicolas F, 04 Jun 2018The purpose is to be powerful enough, but less expensive than SD8xx. And why do you need th... moreReally close to flagships... most likely priced close flagships. Two 75 four 55. So if 845 is 700-800 not counting pixel and Apple offerings, this could be 600-750$... really interesting chip indeed!
Thesis86, 04 Jun 2018This better be the device coming to the U.S. Make it a big screen device, 6.3" to 6.4"This better come to europe and be small like 4.7” or really close that!
New Nokia 8 ? or new Nokia 7 ? or perhaps the nokia x7 ?
Could this SD 710 be Nokia 4 or Nokia 9/10 lite edition??? Idk, but who knows. And this is what I would expect from a SD 710 Nokia phone.
1. Kill the "NOTCH"!!!!
2. Please keep the headphone jack Nokia!!!!
3. Bring back the stereo speaker and Dolby Atmos sound for "GOD SAKE"!!!!
4. Don't make it much expensive more than the MI 8 explorer otherwise I'll do a "Kidney transplant". And Indian people hate overpriced phones uh.
5. Must have better dual camera sensor and image/ video quality. I don't care if DxO give them a fail mark as long the people around us are impressed. Oh yes, no monochrome sensor!!!!
6. Put the fingerprint sensor under the display. (if you can)
7. Lastly, must have good design. Don't have to be perfect or innovation design, but at least don't copy iPhone X or Samsung phone.
Tommy Chhangte, 04 Jun 2018It will be priced even MORE than the already overpriced Nokia 7 Plus! No one wants to pay more... moreI don't believe that Nokia 7 plus is overpriced, but I have to agree that snapdragon 710 might not be an option if it's price 50~100$ above snapdragon 660
This better be the device coming to the U.S. Make it a big screen device, 6.3" to 6.4"
Not everyone need flagship phones. Some people just are not into heavy gaming or need all the flagship features, so a mid-range phone is best bang for the buck. S710 seems to be a good choice if the price is right.
