In the wake of the disappointing design decision of Google, this looks amazing (O would've preferred the 2280 x 1080 resolution or higher but I digress). Considering Asus's smartphone track record, I'm really hoping this has all the radios and LTE bands for America considering their phones have always been for China and Europe.

This is beginning of new segment. VR/AR needs at least 4k display and high processing power. So in 2 years we will probably see phone with $2,000 price tag. They will target niche areas like gaming and quad camera with bigger sensors. This is more like a laptop choice, buy a $2500 gaming laptop like alienware, MSI, HP omen etc.. or you can buy a $800 Dell inspiron notebook.

Why are u journalists always complaining about innovative devices? The S9 is not innovative enough & this phone is too innovative. You are screwing the market & dumbing technology.
This rog phone looks like my dream phone. It's got basically everything I ever wanted. A glowing back logo, FHD screen with overclocked sd845 for mind blowing performance.
Real Racing 3, Pubg & soon fortnite, all need top specs to run at Max graphics. So get out of your Candy Crush or Clash Royal shell. There are a lot of high quality mobile games.
There are also emulators which do need the best specs.
So stop opposing the launch of such gaming phones!

Investing in 10nm phones is pointless,
considering how huge the 7nm upgrade will be, and that
it will be introduced before the end of the year. (Huawei)

Or about the same time that phone will become available
considering Asus's messy launching delays

For all the "gaming phones" released this year, I think this is it. The almost perfect product built by the company who cares a lot on gamers, and they are stepping up again in the market.
What a hype!

Would be better to have 5000 mAh battery.
After all, this is for gaming and battery life is very important. When playing and changing at the same time, it is dangerous and will shorten the battery life.

I think so far this is the best of all gaming phones. I liked that part of it that over clocks the CPU. The game controller seems more practical than what Xiaomi gave us. And the design is just stunning. Asus please don't price too high
