Well i wonder what hapenned with rumors which turned to be true where IOS slowed down your older devices via updates?
So A 50% faster keyboard or 70% faster camera means it will rise from crawling speed to a turtle speeds?
Also a lot of new things to make a complicated software even more complicated.
Well when comming to difficult tasks instead of bringing new ideas and fresh updates apple like usualy make things a lot worse.
How typical when people are out of problems they will generate them faster than a speed of light in vacuum :-)

and consumers would have to ditch their iphone 5s. but they made it available.

ios 11 when released, was not compatible with the iphone 5 as it was a 32 bit os capability.

ur opinion is wrong as the easy option would be to exlude 5s from ios 12 to force people to buy a new device. but they made it available so ur point is invalid

In the meanwhile checkout the first iOS 11.4 vs iOS 12 Beta 1 speedtest on the iPhone 5S and it supports what Apple says about the iOS 12. Remember this is the 1st beta software and also this is the 5th major iOS upgrade for iPhone 5S:

It seems like Widows considers the iPhone like a camera or a camera flash drive as it only detects photos and videos and not any other kind of data like pdfs etc. At that time the iPhone was a 4 and my friend's pc was running widows XP.

Abc, 05 Jun 2018Iphone 5s... I m so lucky. Apple just take care of its offspring unlike others.Let's face it, the only reason Apple lets your 5s receive the update is to make it LAG until you scream so that you will throw the phone at the wall and then buy a new phone.

Always and forever will be their motive.

No company gives you "free" updates to let you hang onto your phone longer.

Apple makes many mistakes, sometimes its business mistakes but usually it affects the consumers. Regardless they still are the leaders for many of the things they get right.

iOS 12 looks like decent improvement over iOS 11, so even if you have an Android device, you should congratulate them as this supports competition... leading to cheaper and better phones for you Android Fans!

The sheer back catalogue of support is truly one of iOS strong points. Android cannot compare in this department.

Surprised to see 5s on iOS12 runs faster than that on iOS11.4

And i hope the final version would be even faster.

Sam.Smythe, 05 Jun 2018How do you know iOS 12 kills your battery? Are you a developer with access to developer beta? ... moreHow do you know it doesn't. You faint really say until it comes out. However people who think it will have a negative impact are not wrong to believe so off many years of past experience and same claims from apple.
Their software and stability are supposed to be the best and top notch at all times. It's what people are paying for. But it hasn't and the past few years have been great examples to go off. Though as far as apple has said they have been amazing quality and performance..
                                  It's called logic.
However I do believe it's possible this build is improved. I also expect it will take them a few builds and releases like usual to get it closer to their claim of stability

Sam.Smythe, 05 Jun 2018How do you know iOS 12 kills your battery? Are you a developer with access to developer beta? ... moreI got the 12 update to my X (12.0.0b1D)
And I am a developer, i got it about half an hour after keynote's end:
                                        A quick hands on:
-camera Effects are cute and nice touch for a funny image to upload on Instagram, snap, or other Social media, don't expect too crazy skins and effects. It's kinda like S4 had s*x with iOS and gave birth to these effects
-memoji works flawlessly. And you can use your memoji to set your expression instead of the usual annonymous people in emoji keyboard of iOS
-Face time: I actually called my team at like 11 in the night to try out the MMOFacetime feature (29 people online! XD can't describe it any better than an MMO!)
-still annoyingly cluttered settings menu. -_-
                                        -dark mode none existent.
-battery life seems bad on this build. But not surprised tbh. It's the first build of 12 so I can't complain.
This is my veredict of how I experience beta 12.
I cannot gurantee that experience will be the same. So take it with a pinch of salt guys. ^^
