There is vast amount of Android devices, so it is hard to support all of them more than 2 years. Apple case is more simpler, because only Apple products are running on iOS.

So Apple now offers 5 years of support and new updates and in the same time users sued Samsung for supporting their phones for 2 or more years and it was rejected by the court. lol
