My Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge UAE got oreo update in India. Today 8th June..
False alarm... the update log for the S7/Edge in Verizon site is reverted to the last April security patch. I give another month until Oreo update... if lucky.
And still nothing for my unlocked device... thanks Samsung !

PS I've asked someone that works at a big carrier and I was told that the locked devices under a certain carrier get the updates from the manufacturer, not from the carrier.
So we have to blame Samsung for the lazy updates for locked phones too.
The carriers only ask for certain apps or features to be installed over the stock one..
In other words, if you buy a Samsung, you have to wait 1 - 1.5 YEARS to get an os update, while others are getting ready for Android P.
Remind me again, why is Samsung no 1? Pffff
Looks like I'm going to buy a Sony. Again.
Sorry Sammy, but you are lazy af! Being "no 1" you have NO excuse for it.
Boo hoo hoo! If you really wanted faster update you should've gotten a pixel phone or go with Apple. Apparently getting "priority updates" weren't so high on your list when you settled for a Samsung so stop crying already.
Ironic how the global/unlocked version are receiving slower update than the carrier version, and even they are receiving the update it is by selected region instead of full release globally.
What about the global version? Most of the customers on Samsung store are complaining about the Oreo update which it didn't received on their devices yet. I actually go on a Samsung store occasionally and talk with the salesmen/women while using their flagship phones to seriously make this 18:5:9 ratio as my daily display next time. :)
