I myself don't buy earphones above $40 and usually would buy a good headset for a little more than a 100. That way, I don't deal with dying cat in agony sound 😂😂😂😂😂

Sometimes borrowed by others and never returned. Better off with cheap earphones. As long as it produce good quality sound I'm all good with cheap ones.

You better be producing some good music to be ... morei use high resolution digital audio player sony nw-zx100 with my xba-40 ( i don't use my sony xperia XZs to listen to music) , yes they cost US$400, but i didn't pay that much as i got them from japan,
high end in ear phones uses balanced armatures, not dynamic drivers which are cheaper to make, balanced armatures has their own advantages and disadvantages, you need multiple units to make them sound good as they have a narrow frequency response, but you do get is silky smooth audio, while traditional dynamic drivers have also advantages, they push a lot of air and create very deep bass

Literally nobody makes that kind of sound... moredepends, i have purchased brand new sealed sony xba-40 (4 balanced armature ) directly from japan auctions, inclusive shipping for around US$125 ( HK$950), these are US$400 earphones
however, for the average consumer, they are happy with sub US$50 earphones, then let them be.

Their HD1's squeezes comfortably in below the 100 buck bar (by several cents). Those earbuds are generally considered the bar to match for everyone not in the custom fitted high price range.
Regarding Honor's claim that these 20 buck earbuds offers "hi-res sound" does however sound like the good old 80's when everybody sold hi-fi sound. They were not lying, even the cheapest made stuff that produced sounds well up towards 20,000 Hz. It just didn't sound anything like the source, more like cat in agony. :)

Literally nobody makes that kind of sound quality on headphones cheaper than 100. Making this stuff is expensive people and there is only so much good value brands like Honor can do.
