Ever since they deleted my Yahoo account in 2004, simply because I was unable to check it for 1 month, I left them for Hotmail and MSN Messenger and never looked back.

The last time I use yahoo mail & messenger was 2008.
I remember back then, after using their service for 3 years as good standing user, they suddenly blocked me out.
First they banned me from messenger. Then they kept sending me warning whenever I tried to login to yahoo mail.

So I immediately switched to GMail in 2008, and started using it as my primary email.
                  No regret.
                  10 years later (2018), I realized it's the best decision I made.

I used YM right until their last redesign. They had their feedback pages full of outrage at their changes, yet they still went ahead and launched.
What can I say, if you can't figure out you can't make a IM application work if you drive users away, there's no redemption for you.

Stopped using messenger about 10 years ago, didn't like Yahoo to begin with, with it constantly changing its services' UI and so I had to always adjust.

After the password leaks (twice) I stopped using yahoo except to receive spam e-mail, but when it became part of Verizon, which meant my data will be given to another third party, I deleted my account altogether.

But when it became web base.
                                      Everything became wrong.
