Finally my S7 edge got updated. Thrice it hanged up after downloading 99% of the update. Then I factory resetted it. Did not even add my google account before updating. It updated fine. and now I have samsung Experience 9.0 based on Oreo 8.0 running the show . It is far far far far better than old Nougat. Now the phone is snappier and somehow the camera is astounding now .... of course it was excellent earlier. Now in low light even op6 cannot match it. Rear one 12 mp , f1.7 with 1.4 micron pixel density with OIS are put to real use after Oreo update. You have to see the images to believe it. Camera is the best by far. And so many themes ....screen is now looking like S9+.... it catches eye always.it is a flagship. even now.
My S7 (without edge) just got the upgrade notification now. I'm not sure yet if i going to updating my S7. Anyone have any issue after apdating to oreo? Share please. Thanks before
Anonymous, 09 Jun 2018Well none of that is going to happen. Choke on your popcorn :)I am an S7 user. I don't know if i will upgrade, i am afraid of the bugs. The phone runs way to good to ruin it.
*still eating popcorn, and did not choke*
Bob007, 09 Jun 2018Meanwhile note 5 pro which is launched in 2018 in India is still running on Android 7 as the ... moreRedmi Note 5 Pro isn't a flagship lol...
Name me a mid ranger that was released in 2016 and got upgraded to Oreo.
There is something's horribly wrong in the update .full update is of 1399.27 mb bit 1399.09 mb is easily downloaded bit the the s7 edge hangs up. This happened thrice. Goddamn update. I don't need these kind of updates.
Updated my S7 edge today to Oreo. Must say the update seems good after 4 hours of usage. The phone feels snappier but the battery seems to be draining faster when compared to Nougat. P.S.: I am a very heavy user
Dilmeet, 09 Jun 2018A flagship model receiving Oreo as it's final update when P is around the corner and comparing... moreI have infinix note 4 which is one year old phone that worth just 120$ and it got ,oreo 8.1 update 3 months back(with many extra infinix features and UI changes) and all the bugs hot fixed one month back. Samsung S7 is still a costly phone, last year many people bought it when price was dropped to 30k and it just got 8.0 now, which is a real shame. Samsung is not good in providing neither updates even for flagshop pjone nor an optimized interface(many people find it is the laggiest flagship phone maker), there is no other way to see it.
This will be your last update.
Enjoy it while you can!
Congrats Samsung after almost a year an Oreo android is out.
And S7 was a flagship device.
Shame on Shamesung.
Anonymous, 09 Jun 2018Actually samsung should learn from apple for updates. I prefer android but no brand is able ... morethere are hundreds of Android phone models but there are just 5 apple phones thats why
Hoffmann, 09 Jun 2018Android P is just around the corner, Samsung. Bout' damn time, that my S7 Edge gets OreoUpdates are a really sorry situation for Samsung but their UI is full of features which more than makes up for it. Security updates are a sad story though. Wonder when will they support flagship for the price they sell at.
