Less r&d cost (same design) and increased/same selling price will result in higher profit.
I dont think they will lower the price or make it the same. So.. just guess..

The position is worse. Why can't the manufacturers think of a position that is not next to the bloody camera? Why can't they think of pixel or Sony when it comes to fingerprint sensor placement..?
