Anon, 11 Jun 2018Still they hyped the phone around NPU and Android 8.1. Now backtracking. Piss poor of them. NPU is active it does not require android 8.1 though I do agree huawei updates are bad

This phone is a Beast! My friend have this phone as we play PUBG even on a HD resolution it doesn't feel any lags, it runs so smooth no matter what resolution he choose. While me (Samsung A7) and my other friend (Samsung J7 PRO) even just on a lower resolution it doesn't provide any justice. Both Samsung phones that we have are spiky when we play and that's the reason why I uninstall PUBG and quit playing games in my phone.

So, i guess that's the real price of the phone. They've asked $800 for it in the start, so if someone fell for it, OK, if not, they lower the price to a normal level later, and advertise it as a "discount". And those who didn't fall for the $800, they will fall for the "discount".
"Oh, look, it's on a discount ... wow, $250 cheaper ... that's a good deal, lets buy it."
And that's how marketing works ...

News sites report Huawei will release faster android updates, but they dont go ... moreThey are slow but not slowest Mate 9 got oreo update end of last year and P10 got it february this year which is not that slow and there is nothing special in oreo 8.1 it just iron out some bugs thats it and EMUI 8.1 just gives you new camera app with more aggresive AI thats it

News sites report Huawei will release faster android updates, but they dont go back and follow up on Huawei's lies calling them out. Many people bought this phone on the news that they would be better at releasing updates. We are still waiting for Android 8.1 with full NPU support that was promised ages ago.

One of the fastest phones Ive used. Probably one of the greatest cameras on smartphone. I switched from Iphone to this beast and I am very happy with it. Only thing that I hate is updates. I would like GSM to write about that, because Huawei on press conferences said that they have fastest updates but in fact they are snail SLOW. They promise you updates then they dont mention a word about it.

American buyers be cautious. Huawei scale back their updates for the American version which arrive much later than other regions.
Still no promised Android 8.1 from Huawei who prefer to support the P Series line more than the Mate Series.
