Akinaro, 11 Jun 2018Funny that we have all that power in our device for some time, and today even mid-range phones... moreSony stamina mode has 3 levels since android 7.
The most aggressive mode decreases the clock of cpu.

Can't hit 10k if the single thread is 2500. There will always be latency from inter-chip connections and caching.

Akinaro, 11 Jun 2018Funny that we have all that power in our device for some time, and today even mid-range phones... moreWikipedia estimates that an Adreno 630 can do around 730 GFLOPS.
That's about double what the world's best supercomputer in 1996 could manage (but the top 1997 computer is over 1 TFLOP).

Funny that we have all that power in our device for some time, and today even mid-range phones can be sufficient for gaming, but no one though about more aggressive CPU rules and systems that would disable/enable cores to increase eg batter life or performances. We had to make gaming phone to "invent" that....

For past two years I was saying that we should start treating phones as proper micro computers and demand proper functions in them. Starting from system ending in hardware. Android is still just tad toy'ish social/media OS without any real and good way to use it as proper replacement for PC, you can customize it yes, but its very limited because of lack of proper apps and functions. Like plugging it to TV/keyboard enable PC-like GUI and more advanced apps.
And with hardware the same story, just like those cores rules, other components could use some tweaking... small stuff but could give user better experience if needed.

Nah, so minimal, nothing much in that at this stage.

                Wow!!!
All that to earn 5% for multicore and singlecore ..

I was expecting 10-13% stronger. And with ZenUI on it, the overclock advantage wears off
