This will never happen.
Apple is making millions of dollars from their proprietary port from cables headphones etc.
This is mean Apple to trash millions on garbage.
Can you imagine such greedy company to make such move?
No.

The next "rumour" I want to hear from apple is that the base iphone, which most people can afford, is finally getting upgraded to a better screen and battery life or getting shelved altogether.

The screen on the base is crap and so is the battery life. Phones like oneplus, who are 300$ less on the price-meter, offer a great full-hd screen and a long lasting battery.

I recently moved from iphone-7 and one of the biggest reason was the below average screen and sh*t for its price.

honestly, i am getting fed up with these gigantic walls apple has built around itself. rumours of a usb-c coming and that too just to the brick end ! i am an iphone user(iphone 5) and am planning on a new phone this year but most probably will go for note9 just cuz it has a headphone jack plus the larger battery rumours will be a bonus. first, apple didn't relent on the storage front. i mean who in their right minds bought 16gb phones for $600 plus in 2016 is beyond my comprehension. now the headphone jack just cuz "they want to be the future". but the future is going to cost you $150 more otherwise use the same old cable headphones with a dongle. ip67 water resistance won't let the most valuable brand of the world to invest enough in designing to have another hole in the phone and to get rid of the camera bump. a camera bump on a $1000 phone ! fast charging is introduced finally in a $1000 phone but you have to buy the fast charger separately!
sorry to apple fans but this is just ridiculous.

PeterThePanda, 13 Jun 2018Yeah, doubt that they'll ditch the Lightning part, because they make a lot of $$$$ in royaltie... moreIt's nothing more than a verification chip, in essence they could even do USB-C with same chip and still grab money for IT.

            But hey that's typical Apple...

To make sure my iPhone X charges fast I had to use Samsung's fast charger.

Rave, 13 Jun 2018I don't really expect apple to add USB-C to iphones yet maybe in 2020AFAIK, EU has been considering a universal standard so that you won't have to carry as many converters or connectors as they can be used for every device. This might be them going to bend to that or it could also be them going to allow use of MacBook chargers as iPhone chargers and they'll say something about them implementing fast charging like it's a new thing.

Yup definitely USB-C to lightning. Apple has built their empire on planned obsolescence and forced upgrades. Nothing new here. Spend your money and move along.

And if usb c will be in power adapter side, iPhone user has to bring two thing always. The adapater and cable. Previously, users can borrow the adapter fron anyone since it's the same usb A. Wow.

After its maiden appearance in MacBook in early 2015 , Ppl were expecting "USB C" on the 2015 iPhone, 2019 is a looong time!

They'll adopt the USB-C on the power adapter side. I highly doubt they'll drop the Lightning port because they'll lose $$$$ on royalties from MFI products that use the Lightning cable.
