It is such a waste lol. They put a notch so u can hide it. IT's basically a virtual bezel. They are better off copying the look from Samsung or the LG G6 or the V30/35. It looks much nicer than adding a notch.

Cute of them to try hedging their bets like that selling to both sides, but I'll never buy a phone with a notch, whether it can be "hidden" or not. You think you've cut the Gordian knot, Nokia? You did no such thing.

That's because they(manufacturers) introduced something that no one asked for.
Yes, it is innovation but not the kind that's exactly welcome.
At the very least, they're giving the users the option to hide it; options are better than being forced to something.

Its nice to see they hide the notch .....it also nice that the notifications icons like battery, wifi,remaining things will appear in that same area so there is not any additional wasted of screen. If depend on the person to choose notch or not. Atleast u have some choice.

If you hide the notch, you basically make the notification bar area to be excluded from the main screen area so all in all you don't lose usable screen space.

To hide the notch is so easy that the notch should not need to be a problem for anyone, if you don't like just hide it!
We have behind the screen fingerprint scanners, so the next step is a behind the screen camera that turn off or hide or... pizels on the screen when the camera is used!
