wooty, 17 Jun 2018Lol. Apple provides 5 years of updates. How about your junk? 2 years? It may provide a 5 year software update period, what about the lifetime locked down OS which you cannot do anything to and are forced to only use what you get?

It's so restricted it's unbelieable...

Bella, 17 Jun 2018Why do you need to flash custom ROMs if its design to work fast?It is already very fast. However, using a custom kernel and rom only makes it even faster, allowing to remove pre-installe apps/bloatware and improving battery life. So why not?

We also get full control of the device, which even allows for further GPU/CPU overclocking or even downclocking for even better battery life.

This is what Android gives you, pure freedom, not locked down and everything by force like Apple.

Android has the freedom to

1) The only advantage IOS has is proper web rendering (all web pages render proeprely without any issue , using chrome or safari) while on Android (whether it is Samsung or Google phone) some web pages still jump or dont render properly or have issues with zooming .
2) Ipad 10 pro : YouTube App stutters alot while scrolling the page! ( nothing like that on Galaxy Note 9) . Weather channel app stutters alot (perfectly smooth on Note 9 again ). Many apps are organized and displayed better on Android than IOS.

In the XDA section, I'm glad to see a handful of custom roms and kernels, most of which are really good. This device is the king and it's gaming performance is amazing. I have the Exynos version, it's a monster in it's own league.

Everyone who see the device eye ball it, some even ask what it is. Nothing else like it.

Gandalfdenvite, 17 Jun 2018iOS needs more performance, so iPhone X is slow and lags a lot? The Android flagships today h... moreNot slow at all mate. The thing with iphones is that people keep them for ages. I have an iphone 5s as a second phone. I had it since 2013. Many people have iphone 6 or 6s. Or ipad mini, ipad air. All these devices are old. 3+ years old. People always update to the latest iOS so this time it would be great to get more speed and more life out of your old phone.

Dude, my iPhone 7, which I replaced with an iPhone 8 two weeks ago, was faster than my mom’s Galaxy Note8, which lags and stutters. My iPhone 7 was flawless in terms of speed and stability, not to mention my iPhone 8. Stop living in denial.

It usually takes two major iOS updates to slow the device, unlike Samsung Experience, which gets slower 8-10 months after buying the device.
