CurlyBlonde, 14 Jun 2018Somebody has to buy it to try it and I liked samsung's design & technology since 2005 when... moreWell man to be honest i can afford it too but why to spend 2000+ on a device with manuufacturing price maybe 400 or 450.
Like S9+ cost 312 euros to make but sells for 1000+ euros 256GB version.
If Xiaomi makes equal quality for 500-600 euro i rather buy from xiaomi and save 1400 bucks for holidays somewhere next to sea because our country is too far from any sea at all.
Thus to my opinion. And even if Samsung make this foldable phone for 500 i will not buy because when comming to updates samsung is always last making slow laggy devices which same like apple slows down over the updates.
Which is like forcing customers to buy a new device becaue their old one despite its working perfectly is slowed and laggy.

Anonymous , 15 Jun 2018Can I ask about the pros and cons of a foldable smartphone?Well my opinion should be much different than many users here.
But foldable phone is much bigger its screen is much costlier battery will be more consumed due to dual screen.
We do not know how the ankles will work when folding unfolding the phone.
The price of 2000 is just too much.
I think a regular phone will be as always better option.

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2018Oppo is following Samsung already. Not long before your favourite Xiaomi follows suit.Man everything is just a copy of Motorola which was first cell phone ever made.
Their Daytona back in 1978.
From then all just copy.

Tucking_Fypo, 15 Jun 2018Then don't buy! Simple. Did SAMSUNG ask you to buy if this device will be launch with a $2k pr... moreMan with my Salary i can easily buy 2 pieces but why to throw money onto a thing which will not be worth 2000+.
If xiaomi makes same thing for 600 it will be a deal.
But for 2000 its a stupid gadget from stupid company and maybe not you but 99% of global population will agree with mee its highly overpriced and only dumb people will buy that or rich people for whom 2000 eur is same like 2 euros.

The patent drawings here don't show what Samsung is actually bringing to market. It'll be a seamless foldable OLED. A phone that becomes a tablet. Come on, that's pretty awesome. Who cares about the price tag! When they make a proof of concept, we're all going to want this, and the cost will keep going down until everyone will be able to afford it. Maybe it will take years but so what? Please stop poopoo-ing the idea and realize how cool this is!

The behind closed doors MWC was further along than that, hence the secrecy. They may actually be close this time.

Also, the front screen is independent, and the folding display is the inside of the clamshell, so scratches should be considerably less likely.

CptPower, 14 Jun 2018Man kryocera was first foldable phone just to confirm you not Samsung. Samsung just copy and ... moreThen don't buy! Simple. Did SAMSUNG ask you to buy if this device will be launch with a $2k price tag? If you cant afford it don't rant, as if the product is forced down your throat. The more you react violently the more nonsense you have become. A company is trying it's might to be innovative and here is a typical example of a person with CRAB MENTALITY. I personally can't afford it and think that the price is pretty steep, but to like bash the company? Damn that's idiotic. Just saying.

This is 100% gimmick, foldable screens will be so fragile chances it will deteriorate and become beyond repairable. $2000 is a lot of money, if your worried about getting done for money laundering, this is one way to burn off money.

Well, either release it, either stop lying to us with fake concepts!
