The guy, 18 Jun 2018I'm wondering why people are chasing 256/512/1024 gb of storage?! Most of us are keeping photo... moreWell, let's just say you like to take pictures, a lot of them, with your phone. You also listen to music on your phone, and you also use it to watch movies and shows on it, and you sometime forget to delete the video you've already seen.
You also download a lot of application, some that you use on a daily basis, some that you've only opened once, but now that you have it, might aswell keep it, in case of need.
Uh-oh, you've reached the limit of you 64 GB of storage

Now take into account that Samsung is trying to push the DeX gimmick, they want their phone to be able to replace your computer, they want to add linux compatibility to it...
The larger storage option isn't that useless when you think of it now...

This might only be usefull for a minority of the buyers, like 5%. For you or me, or the 95%, 64 GB is more than enough (especially if the phone has an SD slot). But man, are those 5% happy that they won't have to worry about storage, at any time, even without an SD card.

You have everything (needed and unneeded) on your phone. So you are one of the people who created this demand: huge storage. I don't agree you your policy, but everyone is entitled to his own approach in live.

Me, for example, I don't like to have EVERYTHING on my computer/phone. I want to have enough so I can do my daily tasks. Of course that every now and then I download 2 or 3 episodes to watch on a plane, but when I have landed, if I managed to finish them, they are deleted. Also, music, except couple of albums(about 2-3h of playtime) I don't need these files to fill my storage.

Oh.. but this is just me, the guy who don't need 1TB storage phone to pay 1500+ (USD, EUR or GBP) on a phone , when I can pay 700 for the same phone, but less storage ( storage that is enough for me anyway). Basically, I chose not to pay extra for something that I don't really need.

The guy, 18 Jun 2018I'm wondering why people are chasing 256/512/1024 gb of storage?! Most of us are keeping photo... moreBecause (and I am talking about myself only) apps are constantly growing. And the OS gets bigger too. I find that 128 GB is my sweet spot. But I am going to dedicate that Note 9 to Play Osu!, Taiko and catch the fruit. As well as some other Rhythmical games. For the amount of beatmaps I have (around 6,250) 256 is enough, but I know myself, there are always new beatmaps I wanna try so I want to be futureproof.

I have subscribed to an online video course which take 70 GB. I use offline maps as range is low in some of my areas I want to use offline maps which takes 10 GB minimum. I have lot of music, movies, apps, photos and I like to have offline wikipedia also. There is no space for that in my current 128gb memory. I think this is the situation for everyone who use phone a more but with lesser internet.

I'm wondering why people are chasing 256/512/1024 gb of storage?! Most of us are keeping photos or videos on our storage for ages (assuming that a really old smartphone is used, so app 2 years old) and still have enough storage left. We know that those videos/photos are forgotten there..... so it's really a real need for more storage or just a gimmick to have the 'biggest' phone? Why would someone would spend extra on 512gb while the 128 or even 64gb will do?

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2018Yes. They Galaxy S9+ 256 GB here costs $1,000 Note 9 512 GB? I bet it will cost $1300 here ... moreYep. Go for LG G6/V30/G7 depending on your budget. All of them have SD slots & all of them are good phones.

Other than LG, you can also go for Sony, HTC or Motorola phones. They also come with SD card slots & are mostly good.

Note 9 512 GB? I bet it will cost $1300 here

I'd better go for other brand like LG. Unfortunately no sd card slot is a no buy for me.

My galaxy S4 died suddenly (never dropped it) in its 3rd year. And I managed to get my photos and data thanks to SD Card.
I will never buy phone without SD slot.

Unfortunately, only some manufacturers realizes that SD card slot is important.

No fear.. SD slots to the rescue.
