Anonymous, 22 Jun 2018to copy NFC signal need almost stick to the device, it is better than current keyless and NFC... moreUsing device's fingerprint scanner is like using the car's scanner.
Nfc copy devices could be hidden in public wireless chargers later on. Much like the devices that copy credit cards.
I hope this comes as an option rather than the standard.

Well i wonder about security of this and if it will be like downloadable app once someone gets the password you loose the car.
Whats even worse this app can lock it self from even the primary user after some fails with opening similar to Sim cards and PIN / PUK codes.
I wouldnt recommed this tecnology the risks are too high.

That car was the definition of over-engineering at best, built like a tank, and seriously built to last. Current E-Class? Nah, I'll pass. Too many tech inside waiting to be broken.

The great era of ... moreI have a 2010 model year car and it has just the right amount of tech, for me at least. It has AC which is something I'd never buy a car without anymore, MP3 stereo with USB port and damn good speakers and I only have the basic 4 speakers option, front electric windows and remote central locking (classic with buttons, not proximity). That's all I really need quite frankly. Mine still doesn't have ESP and brake assistance, two of features I wouldn't mind, because ESP really can be a life saver and brake assistance so you don't rear end others at lower (or higher) speeds. And that's about it.

You contact the bank to block your card and change the password wont you? Just contact the car centre and they will give you new digital key and deactivate the old ones. Why you no brain? Its the era of smart cars. Dont waste your energy going against technology.

I wonder what the advantages of NFC would be over traditional key fobs?

Great! It means easier entry for car thieves (sarcasm). Once you lose the phone with NFC, that is the end of your car. Wonder if car manufacturers adds anything onto this NFC standard to SPY on car owner and passengers activities?? If it is, I will stick to my normal car without NFC. Besides, the cars themselves has keyless entry (Push button to start/stop) nowadays, so it comes to this sentence "IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT", period. It seems that car manufacturers want to "fix" something that is working for so many years.

It was the pinnacle of high performance cars that even current cars are still having that 2 seat type vehicles.

                              Hello.
I live in Bruxelles and here we have a couple of car sharing companies. To rent a car I open the app of the company, I select the car that I want to rent and when I am near that car I can use the app to unlock the car. After finishing the rent I use again the app to lock the car.
So this technology is already in use and works great !
