The only reason to buy Z series device was the keyboard mod which 2 years later is not ready yet...campaigner on Indiegogo is facing quite a few difficulties working with Moto, they want 3rd party developers to make mods but with no support on their end

And as I pointed out below, since no one else offers a modular system, those of us that find this interesting will have to shell out extra for that compared to otherwise similar devices.

EskeRahn, 22 Jun 2018Uh this is not really the place for what could easily get into a political discussion...All I'm saying is that you can't say "OMG 700 dollars for a midranger, you can buy a Galaxy S9 for less, Motorola is crazy"... You can't buy a Galaxy S9 for this price in Brazil, because things are way more expensive here (due to taxes and other factors). A phone that costs $100 comes to Brazil at around $200; a phone that costs $500 in Brazil usually costs about $250 elsewhere. So a $700 phone in Brazil will most likely cost about $350 in other countries, and this is the price you should compare with other phones, at least until it is released in your country.

The Z-series is ONLY interesting if you need/wants the Mods. If you do not, then look elsewhere!
A product with no competitors are usually overpriced. (Another example of that are the Blackberries with keyboards)
...as simple as that.
