You don't need root for 4k, just a third party camera app, Open Camera for example.

Can't really nail it in the budget segment
Another is the EIS. At least something like on the Redmi Note 5 Pro is great, but with improved video quality. And speaking of video quality, slow motion videos look quite horrible. Like a 480p video upscaled to 720p. The motion is good, but quality could've been better. It's too grainy and pixelated.

Camera feature fragmentation in MIUI is getting wider, Xiaomi should solve it soon to stop the fragmentation getting worse. Nevertheless, I hope this rolls out soon to every other devices. 1080p@60fps is one of many long requested feature. It's weird that even in latest flagship like Mi 8 the camera has 1080p@240fps (along with 1080p@120fps) HFR recording but no 1080p@60fps.
