That's dumb even for a $300 phone, and a for a 1000 Euro phone that's ridiculous.

I use my phone to listen a lot of music, watch youtube videos, streaming videos, read articles and play games, heck I don't even have a FB account. You can't just tell that girls the only ones who use selfie cameras 100 times a day because I've seen a lot of teenager boys doing so. It is a whole generation.
But anyway, I see your point, most people these days just over use selfie cameras and take waaay too many selfies, so these shortcut to get rid of notch seem risky... but let's see, hope GSM can make a long term review for Find X to see what they have to say about it.

So if it is not waterproofing so I don't know what else it is. What's mean you can wash your phone with a water completely submerge it into it and it must work as new. I did submerge my S8 into water accidentally for like half a minute and when I took it out it worked perfectly as it suppose to with ip-67

What is it, 2012 all again?There is no such thing as a water proof phone, they are "water resistant" NOT "waterproof" until the warranty covers liquid damage I wont be submerging my phone or even putting it close to water. Inform yourself a little better about "ingress protection" I used to think that one could soak the phone in water and nothing will happen but unfortunately it may fail every now and then. so for me IP protection means nothing really...

If they did not remove the fingerprint scanner, this would have been a great device. Imagine that you want to open your phone using this OPPO Find X:
1. Put it in front of you.
2. Wait for the camera to pop-up.
3. Unlocked.
With fingerprint scanner:
1. Put your finger on it and your phone will be unlocked instantly. Your phone will be already unlocked before it faces you.
Worst case:
1. When you want biometrics, you need to use the motorized camera everytime which would, in theory, will lessen the overall lifetime of the motor significantly.
2. When you're tired of using #1 then your over 1000$ phone now needs password/pin/pattern to unlock because you don't have any choice.
For me, this design could be utilized better but OPPO chose to compromise instead.

When vivo NEX duo launched and Oppo Find X followed, notched phones became outdated and short-lived... that quick. Any notched phones to be released before or thereafter should have an affordable price to survive as such notchless design is inevitably coming to other affordable segments and is going to compete against those notched devices

Yes there are girls who listen to music and take 200 selfie a day but not 200 pictures, but 300/400 of them and delete half, and leave half that is good. :)

Now its 4 year that I work there. SO YES I KNOW A BIT ABOUT PHONES. I graduated android on college so I am familiar with it. From my experience with customers I KNOW FEW THINGS ABOUT REPAIR PARTS AND SERVICE.

For the stb find x is awesome and all companies should follow this direction rather than notchin but for the rest is just meh! This phone lacks many features another flagships have.
I state this again : companies forget the point of making bezelless phone is to have smaller overall footprint but now they all are bigger than the bezelled phones! For this reason, I am not that exited to see humongous bezelless phones, that is just lazy! Yeah lazy, everyone can stuff in anything in that humongous footprint! In smaller footprint it needs more works but that's okay as we'll pay top dollars too.
Till the day the truly bezelless come with all these features that humongous flagship have packed in 5-5.5" phones, everything is just meh!

This is not future, it rather comin... moreIt's not the future but it's by far the best we've got in the hunt for a bezel free phone. They're guaranteeing something like 300,000 uses on the popup feature. 200 selfies a day, emne you're going to the loonie bin, but the phone will at least still manage that for years.
