I find the iris scanning to be very intrusive on my privacy.

Imperator Neubaticus, 23 Jun 2018Yeah people can't seem to understand that. They just keep yapping about how expensive everythi... moreThere's nothing wrong with being expensive if it had software support for more than two years, if it had expandable storage or removable batteries. As it is, whether you buy a $150, $300, $800, $1,000 or $2,000+ android phone, software support and security patches are up to two years at most. And the sealed battery trend and no sd card slot trend of flagship phones coupled with exorbitant price increases yearly does not help at all. This is clearly one to two year planned obsolescence. Can you imagine dumping a $1,000 Windows laptop because there's no more windows security patches after 2 years or that because its worn out battery is sealed and no longer available/supported and its hard drive is full to the brim, is fixed, non-removable and non-upgradable, while costs of this hypothetical laptop model continue to spiral up with no real significant technological improvements/advances? Don't you think it's about time these greedy manufacturers get regulated and legislation passed worldwide against planned obsolescence trends (sealed batteries, no software update beyond two years, no sd card slot) started by Samsung and supported by Google? Why can phone manufacturers and tech companies even do that? There needs to be regulation and legislation pure and simple. If this trend continues while flagship prices keep inching upwards, the world's landfills will be filled with annually disposable mobile phones and phone and tech companies will be so rich they will control not only how we spend our money but even how we perceive things, that is, that a $1000, two year disposable laptop with sealed batteries, fixed, non-upgradable hard drive storage and at most two year software and security updates is definitely NOT ACCEPTABLE, but for a $1000, $2000, or even $3000 phone, it's perfectly OK and acceptable while prices continue to spiral up with no real significant technological improvements? You are saying just blame the consumer because it's his fault he can't afford the price or afford to upgrade annually? What kind of logic is that? There's a limit to free market. It must be regulated the same way working hours were regulated to 8hrs a day, 5 days a week a long time ago when capitalists favored a trend towards 12 or longer working hours per day, 6 to more times a week.

I mean curved. But flat would be better. Flat screen are more durable and and cheaper to repair. But typical Samsung ask 400 eur for fixing S9+ pure thievery. They are like bourglars.

In case of HTC, Samsung, Sony and LG people waiting decades for even security update do not mention the software update which in case of Samsung is over a year when S8 got oreo 8.0 when 8.1 was long time out. In case of LG it was much over 18 months to get oreo on flagship phones.

Some things have such quality they can last decades.
For another example in 1984 i got my first PC commodore 64 and yet its still working. My counsin gave it to his sister kids for play and i gave it to my cousin when i got my first pentium.
