Bah, only 3 cameras on the back? Should at least have 5 + a fish-eye! Branded Nikon or Zuiko (are there still any "classy" lenses names still available?), apart from a B&O DAC, amp and speakers, not forgetting a moving magnet connection for my turntable, perhaps will get a bit heavy... :D (PS: Of course with an upscale model from Rolls-Royce with the silver badge Spirit of Ecstasy on top!)

With their crappy OS and bugs, no thanks. And LG is one of the slowest when it comes to updates. G6 just recently got Oreo ..... enough said.
Well, i guess we'll see 4 cameras on the back next year or so.
Normal + Wide + Tele + B&W. All types on 1 device. Then everyone will be satisfied. lol
My guess is third sensor is optical zoom cause depth sensor will be just a waste of space and resources, how will dual front cam improve the security of face unlock would be interesting and hope it does not ships in feb 2019 when it will be announced in october or november 2018
One or two cameras with variable aperture and a lens that can be changed from the inside could solve all of this.
But with people wanting lenses to be flush with the phone I don't see this happening any time soon.
In all relevance, 5 cameras is not a bad thing if used and purposed wisely. We can understand with the 3D face mapping for dual front cams. Good for face unlock and AR emojis. We also understand the standard lens and wide angles lens with whatever the third lens may be. Should rival well with P20 camera performance. Try taking that crown from Huawei.
FWIW the Amazon Fire Phone circa 2014 had 5 cameras (1 rear, 4 front)
Love the Community, 26 Jun 2018I guess LG doesn't have the technology to do what Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX S had done. Then ag... more'LG doesn't have the technology Oppo and Vivo has'.
What technology? It is just a motor. Hardly groundbreaking technology! LG, and the rest, could easily reproduce the Find X or Nex devices.
Adding a bunch of cameras doesn't make a good phone what the heck
It's gonna be a great phone like the V30 and G6 of last year, but yet it will be underrated by many. LG should heavily advertise the V series. The phones deserve more sales.
Koala, 26 Jun 2018Three cameras are too much. Pixel 2 performs well with one camera. Except LG actually provides a use for their secondary cameras. They typically slap on a wide angle lens. You can't get that from a single camera.
Please, LG, go away from mobile market! You don't support own phones, don't update, quality is bad, price is insane and design is ugly for many years.
It will get a OLED panel (https://www.xda-developers.com/lg-only-use-oled-displays-v-series-smartphones/).
Also the two selfie cameras might be used for the new LG Animoji like the ones from Apple. A less accurate version will possibly also be released on the G7/V30 afterwards (http://www.ibtimes.com/lg-g7-thinq-getting-animoji-feature-through-software-update-2677949).
As long as it doesn't have a notch and it's priced a lot more competitively than LG normally do or it's destined to be yet another good phone from LG that no one buys. They need to learn
I guess LG doesn't have the technology to do what Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX S had done. Then again, MIL-STD 810G and iP68 is impossible on phones with moving parts.
Let's hope for:
1. an iPhone X style Allscreen design with same chin bezels as the thin side bezels.
2. Two f1.8 8mp - 12mp selfie cameras with some goodies that work just like the iPhone X/Find X facial scanner.
3. Aforementioned certification of toughness and survivability.
4. 3.5mm Headphone jack with a QuadDAC.
5. Improved P-OLED or that new LCD technology LG currently has.
6. 41mp for the 3rd camera. (No monochrome sensors)
7. Stereo speakers (1 for the receiver, 1 for bottom firing)
All of that for the price of $900 flat.
Expecting a V40s, V45, V45s, V45 ThinQ, V45 NoThinQ also!!!
