Anonymous, 15 Jul 2018The copied this from a Yota phone from 2013Well now i remember yes American Yota had this.
Well its same like when Samsung copied foldable S10 from Kryocerra.

It is far from the first time a special selfie display has been used, there were even compact cameras with them.
I think it is a great solution.
However, it will require the use of an Ultra-wide lens on the back, so essentially the selfie camera has to be put on the back so it doesn't save the cost of the camera (or it might if they go for a LG type of dual-camera set-up, as they would then already have such a camera on the back), and it will either increase the thickness or decrease the battery capacity. But I don't think phones need to be super thin.
If they put proximity and light sensors on the back, they could probably come up with a clever system for having the back display act as "always on", or have it turn on, by just moving the hand above it, when it is facing upwards, for clock and notifications.
Luxor, 28 Jun 2018So, nobody wants to talk about why there are two side mounted fingerprint sensor on both side? For left handed and right handed people
Luxor, 28 Jun 2018So, nobody wants to talk about why there are two side mounted fingerprint sensor on both side? Presumably to allow for left or right hand usage.

Now this is a great idea, seeing how phones already have glass backs anyway. For me it is definitely better than a pop-up camera, which is bound to fail by aging motor or snap off at some point. Of course now two screens to repair if you break the phone, but I've never broken a screen in all my years of phone ownership.
It will be launched in 2019 with Android 7 of course
bring it on pleaaaase
What an interesting design now as we can expect apple will copy and say its their own made design.
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2018How would someone make a CASE for it?Clear TPU case perhaps, if the back screen is only used for viewing and no touch. It's use is for selfies and additional information anyway, no need to use it from the back side.
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2018That's nothing new tho... ever heard of yota phone?YotaPhone uses e-ink instead of a clear and crisp looking OLED though which in turn that the Meizu Pro 7 did it first but the main selling point is that the backscreen has more of a use as the back display screen is larger. E-ink can't do what we want to do on the frontscreen. Let's welcome this nubia design and that "Iceberg" design (with two notches) as innovation. Let's forget that gimmick from that Rusky.
Weird typical chine design
