Can any other phone takes 3x & 5x zoom as detail on P20 pro? No. Can any other phones takes unbeatable low light shots as P20 pro (rgb+monochrome camera sensor)? No. Not talking about the handheld Night Shot that no other phone has an answer yet. So no, its not a gimmick.

The world is changing and these companies are the ones who rule the market, so they force their things on the consumers. So buy this phone because with it's only camera technology it's ahead of the competition by miles

Tons of options for 1k$ rather than this over priced bs.
Samsung S8 is 490$.Asus 5Z will be for 510$.You will get 2 amazing phones for 1k$.
If you are a gamer you can buy an amazing gaming laptop with i7-7700HQ and 1060 6 gb and 16 gb ram for 1k$ 90HZ FHD screen.
If you build a gaming PC you can also include more things than the laptop.
If you want to watch the world cup like a champion you can buy a 55 or 65 inch UHD Smart TV depending on the brand
You can buy a used car for 1k$.

Tooo much money for a phone that is $350 over priced. If I can use it to replace my laptop and connect it to my TV.....then.....I'll think about it, If they want to charge more ....it gotta do more !!! LOL at Sony !! Because phones have started costing more I'm buying less....sticking with current phone longer.

I know it's a risk from Sony but the phone deserves it, though I wish it would have gone at least for $900 like $899 or $920 but it's better than the iPhone who failed in the water proof test and the others like the S9 Plus, the P20 Pro and the G7.
I would buy the phone without any hesitation and yes I accept that kind of price, besides know that the new phone coming will go for the $1000 because they were standing at the prices of 900 so why rejecting this when this trend is going to happen whether we (the consumers) like it or not.
Really GSMArena the 4K display is a gimmick wow that's a new level of being low
When you were talking about the P20 Pro you didn't even the 3 cameras were gimmick WOW!!!!

$999 is way overpriced considering that it doesn't even come with minimum 128GB storage. For that price, I'll just get a Pixel 2 XL or even a XZ2 Compact (with change to spare).
If they priced it at around $799, that'll be a reasonable price.

Compared to last year:
1) New cpu/gpu
2) new screen that's bigger, 10-bit with wider gamut than s9+, upscale to HDR of all content, also 30% brighter
3) louder speakers
4) monochrome sensor
5) Image signal processor (AUBE)
6) more battery
7) new set of G lenses ( also 7 instead of 6) with wider aperture
OnePlus 6 added just new cpu/gpu, new notched screen and more ram/storage. Phone costs almost $100 more than 5T.

my god! this is quite expensive I appreciate the phones specs and the hardware side but this is already non sense cant they(SONY) just make up with the price like 700 or near 800? my my.. sony you failed again..

As always i will get this in 3-4 moths after release.... Sony phones are worth waiting for but only after its price is cut 30-40%, few moths later.
I don't even know why Sony even tries with these prices.
