smash, 30 Jun 2018why do we need SDCARDs , when m.2 ssd offer more for lessShow me, how can you put SSD NVme M.2 in a smartphone and a camera.
Woh, 128TB local MicroSD storage!? I will never be running out of local storage anytime soon. Fck the cloud!
Really would love to see at least SDUC III support in the Note 9. It's beyond time that Smartphones supported those dual row of pins MicroSD cards.
Lesson , 29 Jun 2018None of new smartphone have SD card slot now they are only have microSD card slot not SD card. LolOf course you are right. Whenever sd card slot is mentioned in a phone, it is a shortcut for microsd card slot (µsd or usd). And yes, the article talks of sd cards not microsd but for sure, it will come to micro sd cards too in the future.

You misread his comment. Anon is correct, no smartphones today comes with SD card slot. Most phones comes with MicroSD card slot. Big difference.
Anonymous, 29 Jun 2018For what reason this cards are being released as all the latest phones do not have sdcard slot..You're right. Only the cheap knockoff replika brands don't have the SD card slot.
All the major Android players have it though.
Who in their right mind would choose one of those replikas over a real high-end flagship?
I know I wouldn't..
I'm guessing there will also be SD express based on UHS II and UHS III coming in the next few years
It's for cameras... the fuck is wrong with you people?
Also - later there is probably gonna be a microSD version of this.

And stop promoting crippled, overpriced phones with high internal storage but no sd card expansion. Nobody should ever buy them. Not only are they overpriced for the amount of internal storage they offer, but their internal storage cannot be transferred should you decide to upgrade to a new phone. No sd card slot = PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE on steriods.

Haven't you heard of sd card encryption? Besides, the cloud is more prone to sophisticated hacking because your data is exposed not only to local petty hackers, but a WHOLE WORLDWIDE COMMUNITY of SEASONED, HIGHLY SKILLED international hackers. Now you know!
TechLover1, 28 Jun 2018"400GB Sandisk micro sd card is currently $200." From where?????????????????? Sorry, my mistake. It is currently now below $200. ($189-$190) BRAND NEW!
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2018Yeah right. For that price, you can buy an sd card-less flagship phone that has a 1-2 year lif... moreIt's just a phone. Freedom of choice prevails, SD or not.
Disposing of it properly is a good idea though.
q8peace, 28 Jun 2018dead on arrive / is this the future? ones i put this in my phone and suddenly someone stealing... moreYou can encrypt your card in the first place or just put all sensitive data in internal storage.
sd cards can never die on flagships
AnonD-558092, 28 Jun 2018They do support it. They just need to support the exFAT system and that's it.Its not that easy as you think.
In present era phones supports cards up to 400GB anything over is unsupportable.
