"Nokia may have announced that the N9 will be the last of the MeeGo phones FROM THEM"

This does not mean its the last Meego phone people, just the last one FROM NOKIA. Intel still has many partners that can make them as well as Intel themselves and THATS The devices I'm waiting on.

I'll get an N9 eventually but not until a competitive price drop. Glad to see Nokia saying they'll support it. Now to see if they can honor their words. I already know all if you that bought an N9 already, get continued support through XDA, Meego forums and other websites.

Though i wouldn't hold breath on it. When someone shows little interest in development of something, do you think even their assurance that they'll continue developing it is in fact a goosd reason to buy such device? I'd think about it twice...

Thats good from Nokia. But it would have been even better if they could have used this platform rather than Windows for its future phones. The potential of MeeGo is very good and Nokia is doing a big mistake by not using it.

Anways.. good luck to Nokia and hope they give an option of installing Meego in existing phones like E7 and N8 etc etc for customers who want it.

MeeGo dead, to be replaced by Samsung-Intel backed Tizen.
You can’t say you didn’t see this coming - MeeGo is now officially confirmed dead as the platform will join open source Linux-based LiMo in a new open source project called Tizen. What’s different about it that could make it successful? Most prominently, it’s Samsung’s participation, but a range of other companies from the LiMo foundation will also join in: ACCESS, Panasonic Mobile, NEC Casio, NTT DoCoMo, Samsung, SK Telecom, Telefonica, and Vodafone are all included.

Keep talking Nokia and I will keep shoveling....

This is an opportunity for Nokia to make a quick buck, then leave the last of it's loyal buyers 'all at sea.'

I'm moving to Android or Bada!
                        BYE!!!
