Here’s hoping for Xiaomi to compete with a cheaper SD660 phone (maybe the Mi A2).
Vivo’s pricing are getting ridiculous, all for their fancy marketing.

Sorry Apple fans. Your "chin" argument is n... moreafaik no chin means that the bottom bezel has the same thick with the side bezel one. If you say iPhone X @5 mm, it would be so thick that it can't being considered as a bezelless phone. I have a Redmi Note 3 and it have 2.5mm of side bezels and i think the iPhone X would be the same.
So please check your facts, not only by one source. Maybe i haven't hands this phone but i know the logic is.

These phone uses even much smaller sensor than that phone, i never heard these two selfie expert (that's what they say) companies have ever used any bigger than 1/2.55" sensor, even the 1/2.55" one is kinda rare from them, they mostly used a 1/2.8" sensor in their phone.

This SD660 version only has 12mp front facing camera but with dual pixel tech.
Other than that it basically has the same spesifications.

The explanation is right. So if they give you better SoC and memory, they cut other hardware quality with cheaper one to maintain the profit. And that if the price is still similar, which is still to be seen.

The cameras on the standard V9 are worse than the ones on the 6Gb with better SoC, typical chinese logic. The profit must be fixed so if you add a better SoC and more memory cut here and there too, for maintain the profit. 13 MP (f/2.2, PDAF) + 2 MP (no AF) vs 16 MP (f/2.0, PDAF) + 5 MP. Horrible aperture in the main camera for low light photos in the SD660 version. And in the selfie: 12 MP (f/2.0, 1.28µm) vs 24 MP, f/2.0, 1080p. So the V9 with SD660 worse again, the 24 MP let you do the trick os 4 in 1 pixels at low light if necessary with 12 MP you can't due to get a too low resolution output.

This is vivo answer to redmi note5 (5 pro in India), and zenfone5. The selfie cam is actually better with dual pixel. New soc and bigger ram are also a nice welcome. Price is not that different from the base version. Only $60 pricier.
