Hope the third largest smartphone vendor steps in and change the scene. US really desperately need to change its system. Why must a phone be tied to a carrier? Land of freedom not so free afterall.

Luxor, 29 Jun 2018US want to go 5G? Is the coverage even 1% ready? Hahahaha. This is for 2019 though. The merge between Sprint and T Mobile will allow for 5G to be adopted in 2019

Anonymous, 29 Jun 20185g will eat up your Data even faster, specialty those who only 500mgb to 2gb,4G eats almost the same amount of data as 3G but is obviously faster then it.
It's incorrect to state that 4G is eating more data .

Just so everyone in the Rest Of World knows what we face in the USA -

Our carriers won't enable all their services on phones that they haven't approved. Mostly missing is VoLTE. Without VoLTE, if you want to use your phone to place an actual phone call, you have to drop back to 2G or 3G. Our 2G and 3G is really crappy when it even exists at all. So, you really need a carrier approved phone.

Now, carrier approved phones are relatively expensive. Compare the carrier approved USA model of the Galaxy S9 to the unapproved international model. And if you want an unbranded phone that is also carrier approved, your selection is pretty much limited to the Apple/Samsung duopoly.

In the USA, "unbranded" means it doesn't have the carriers logo and bloatware on it. And is compatible with another carriers SIM card.

OnePlus has some phones that are approved by T-Mobile, and can accept an AT&T or European/Asian carrier SIM card, but none can be connected to our other major carriers.

It would be nice to give the Apple/Samsung duopoly a little competition.

Also, it eats up faster on your data plan of you're not careful on turning off mobile data.
