I have used note 2, 3 and 4 until they died. There wasn't a single they I did not use the pen. Now, I find them too expensive.
Anonymous, 01 Jul 201890% of its folding attempts/limit will be spent for showing off to friends and family.Just like an s-pen most of the time lol. I had few samsung notes and the only time I've used s-pen is to show people what it can be used for.
Anonymous, 30 Jun 2018Another useless gimmick from Samsung. Not everyone can see the future. 5 or 10 years from now, you might be commenting on this page, from a foldable mobile, in the formfactor of a watch. Mark my comment and read the same after 10 years.
Annas, 30 Jun 2018And these fold organic oled how bends can support? after 500 bends its over?Traditional displays uses thin film transistors made of silicon. Organic LED's uses compounds which can be flixible. Certain Organic transistors are called Plastic FETs (Field Effect Transistor). Some of these organic FETs are also used in sensors, such as bomb detectors. Number of times, the organic led display can be bent, depends on the technology maturity.
A SOLUTION IN SEARCH OF A PROBLEM. A complete waste of engineering time for use in a phone, I'm sure beyond curved displays this tech might find some use in some new tech that we haven't figured out yet but there is no need to FORCE this into phones out of sheer marketing.
I'm sure Samsung can also make a display into a perfect pancake circle but that doesn't mean we want a phone in the shape of a circle unless of course we could fold it 8 times so that it's like oragami. It's an engineering solution in search of a design problem and that one doesn't exist yet.

Another useless gimmick from Samsung.
Foxtrot2Novmbr, 30 Jun 2018If they wanna made a foldable phone. They would surely made a screen that can be connected. No... moreYup.
Geric.770, 30 Jun 2018Haha. Expect them to do that later. We dont know Apple's minds these days.If they wanna made a foldable phone. They would surely made a screen that can be connected. Not fold. As the battery, the motherboard, and other internal components cannot be bend.

Organic LEDs are flexible. This should be breakthrough in the industry. More use cases will pop up, once consumer electronics starts using foldable displays.
I am excited to watch the drop test!
Wow! Isn't it exciting to see a cardboard-thin foldable phone? But really, after the novelty fades, reality sets in... It is designed to last even shorter than regular smartphones with cardboard thin bodies and sub 2000mAh sealed batteries to achieve that 'ultrathin' goal. Its going to the landfill a lot faster than regular smartphones. That's planned obsolescence version 2 - leveled up version. We really need worldwide awareness and regulation/legislation against planned obsolescence.

wert, 29 Jun 2018According to the image..lol better don't No. this is an old concept picture.
Anonymous, 29 Jun 2018Useless and expensive and gimmick.
It depends with the functionality. Also, this is a new leap for display panel development so we can't call it a gimmick nor useless.
You could freely say that "useless, gimmick" to most unstandardized-ratio-notchy-and-bezelless-screened phone.
