CptPower, 12 Jul 2018Oh yes i forgot that Samsung releases wits devices with least important OS. I mean when Oreo... moreWell no your "research" is not right, because you said they get one OS update. No matter what it "looks like", you need to view it how it is. And that is that they get at least two updates. I struggle to comprehend just how ignorant you're being. You dismissed everything else I said in my last comment and you have zero trust in a company that is still improving. You haven't given Project Treble any time to kick in, then it will "look like" the devices have gotten two OS updates, maybe three. And with your counter argument, at least try to apply some grammatical skills. -_-

I mean when Oreo is out they put just nougat when Marshmallow were out they added lolipop and so on.
When comming to updates Scamsung is least company to trust so yes they got 2 OS updates bzut it looks like they got just one.
All Nokia models will receiving android P next month where samsung just released oreo to just some nougat devices. But most of its devices still have nougat.
Well you protecting the worst company on the planet like its something special.
So my research were right. Their two updates looks like just one.

The point is that people buy phones and the camera element is a deciding factor. And yes, flagships get AT LEAST two major OS updates. It could become three due to Project Treble. And even my budget J7 Prime is expected to get Oreo. That'll make two major OS updates for it, and it's in the low end tier. And no the S7 will probably not get Android P because it has ALREADY RECEIVED TWO OS UPDATES. And no, the S6 probably won't get Oreo as it has already received two major OS updates. Please do some research before approaching me again. Informing you of common knowledge is a waste of my time. Now if you'll excuse me, I have something better to do with my life -_-

And buying phone for 1200 just because of camera is brainless.
And two major Samsung updates maybe a flagships but only maybe.
S7 got orero will it get Android P? I dont think so.
S6 also wont get oreo.
And when comes to updates Samsung support its basic deviced for 2 years in case of flagships its up to 3 years.
Thhats not much compared to xiaomi which releases MUI even for its 6-10 years old devices.

There are frequent security updates and at least two major OS upgrades, and that's soon to change with Project Treble. As for camera, well people don't use the cameras you listed because they're looking for a portable, reliable camera. Those cameras are in a different league so get them outta here. For the smartphone camera league, the S9+ is among the best.
Furiounx, 08 Jul 2018Okay then. I respect your opinion. I'm not singling out any specific Xiaomi phone, but flagshi... moreSecurity patch isnt everything.
Android update is more important and theses samsung gets once per a life time.
And Waterproofing and better camera iisnt worth 1200.
Anyway acidental water damage is for clumsy people.
About the camera is the same.
If i take a picture with 150 eur Nikon phone and make a large billboard print its quality will be much better than doing the same with S9+.
When snapping at close range difference wont be big but when we try to shoot from afar no phone camera can beat real camera not even DSLR such as Nikon D3400 or somke made by Cannon.

I'm not singling out any specific Xiaomi phone, but flagship Samsung phones have waterproofing, 1440p AMOLED displays, better cameras (In my opinion anyway), and haven't copied notch design. And as for updates.... well my low end J7 Prime (SM-G6100) got the June security patch before even some flagships.
Furiounx, 04 Jul 2018Wait are you serious?
I'd rather have a real phone, that being a Samsung flagship, than have ... moreYes i would like real Xiaomi phone than Garbage Scamsung with no updates and for price which iis not worth at all.
Over the cours of 20 years i had many brands and saw many mobile phones.
Also i have to mention that i work for one of largest mobile shops companies in my country.
So i know how bad and good is each brand.
Man i can tell you that when comes to complains Xiaomi is like a top brand where Samsung sells only because of sticker with Samsung name. But when comes to quality i have 20 times more complains on Samsung phones than xiaomis.
But people who are willing to pay 50% extra for a sticker of brand on a phone never understands.
If we compare S9+ and Mi8 Explorer then MI8 Explorer is a winer offering for less than a half price much better specs.
need dual sim with dedicated sd card slot. Samsung is purposely not giving this in their flagship devices. I will switch from samsung if dual sim with dedicated memory card not present in Note-9.
Minimal camera hump, no notch, headphone jack present, so far so good.
Koala, 03 Jul 2018In my opinion, there is no need of Note series anymore. S+ versions are big enough to serve as... moreActually, it's the other way around. No need for Samsung to release Plus versions of their S Series phones. They are simply doing it because their biggest competitor is doing it. Previously there used to be significant difference between an S series and Note, but with the advent of S Plus versions that difference is just an S-Pen.
