SNA1970, 17 Jul 2018I emailed them and told them not to add laser in the next phone and they thanked me alot. Its not possible to activate the laser without knowing the phone unlocking pattern. Yea, surely a big company will change their developmant, based on some random letters. Their robot thanks everyone for every letter. While they put the laser on, they surely have taught this through. Its not possible for the kids to damage themselves with the laser while you don't leave them unsuppervised for longer periods of time with your unlocked phone. And you should not leave your kids alone for that long time anyways. Its not possible to activate the laser by just answering the phone. And if YOU have that situation that YOU cannot supervise your kids then you should probably not be the one that has custody over them. There are far more dangerous everyday things that can do far more damage, like bad parents, not a class 2 laser. There is also a possibility to lock the phone with a pattern to avoid anyone unlocking it. Buy your kids a safe phone to play with if you really need their access to it and you cannot be or are not accustomed to be a good parent because of your religion or beliefs. But its not a reason why everyone else, who are responsible and cautious could not have a freaking laser in their phone. Because lasers are cool. Cooler than small bezels or curved glass or any other stoobid, unpractical feature that phone makers nowadays push instead of true innovation.

But its still better to teach your kids about safety. They might fall or injirenthemselves in every way imaginable if you keep them too safe. That laser is not more dangerous than a candle or stove or fan or radiator. Think about this. Maybe its just you that can make a difference, not the manufacturer of any device.

They gone too far by including the laser on the cat 61 ... was a bad choice , and I dont want to be worried all the time where did I put my phone ....or when the phone rings and I fear kids answering it. this is not easy life .

If younare worried about the laser just don't let your kids have it without supervision. When I was kid, laser pointer keyrings were sold on every corner cheap and we played with them, no one looked into them and no one got blind. Children can even get blind because of dinner knives or pebble guns. Its not a reason to not jave it on the phone. I wish that the laser was more powerful and that we could have flagship chipset on the next model. Also an IR blasternwould be great and visible security head screws to open the phone up for battery replacement so that wannabes won't try to change it but techies would find it easy to do. It should, at least, be as easy as changing a laptop fan or iPhone 5 battery.

The laser just adds to what this phone can do. Makes it quick and easy to measure a room without having to get anyting extra out the van.
The Flir is brilliant and has all sorts of uses. I have the S60, I'm a plumber and can show customers their underfloor heating working as it should with this tool. plus its water proof doesn't matter if I drop it in a header tank.
