The Laser in this phone is a bad idea . If you look at them direct they will hurt your eyes forever . Even there is a warning on the phone not to look at the laser when it is active.
This is stupid because we sl;eep near our phones and accidents can happen.
what if my children played with the phone and hurt their eyes ?
BAD BAD Move CAT . Laser equipment should never be used in phones. they are used alone.
If you were involve in a plane crash, this phone could safe you life. Not only will it survive a huge amount of damage, but if you crashed in a middle of a forest, you could use the FLIR camera to check for danger such as wild animals.
Even if urban environment, you walk down a dark unlit street and you could use the FLIR camera to check mugger and criminals hanging around in street corners.
Of course, it has lots of practical uses such as try to help locate a water leak or check for overheating parts or cabling.

The thermal camera, measuring distance tool and air quality monitor easily make the phone worth the price. Those aren't cheap you know

I'm not a fan of rugged phones. XD
Best phone I ever had was a Cat S60. Waiting for the S61. A real all terrain. For sparkies like me (Electrical Engineer) a real asset.
Yeei, CAT is obviously starting to follow smartphone trends one step at a time. First the price. I like it. not!
I thought this was a late April's Fool prank, who's Gona buy this at that price then come in here and omit to it !
I was like "meh" until i realised the prank-potential of that thermal camera
