Most apps and most users dont utilize sd845 fully. I think even in 2018 SD821 (or 820?) And sd835 will still perform very well and give us snappy exp.

I am looking for smartphone with good camera but i dont need the highest end cpu available. Unfortunately the camera in midrange phones with midrange CPU are never on the same level of those in flagships.

The only competitive phones now from Samsung are the Note and the S series...both super expensive. No wonder the chineses are eating alive the coreans...

Phones these days are good enough to keep until they last. I’m still using S7e but I’m very doubtful even next year Galaxy will be interesting enough for an upgrade.

OnePlus isn't even thr same league as Samsung Apple or Pixel, hardware wise ( audio, camera, display) are rubbish and software wise full of bugs. Only reason i got the OnePlus 6 as i needed a dual SIM sd 845 cheap phone urgently, already have the Pixel for a good camera and audio. OnePlus one was £280 now the OnePlus 6 is £500 . Xiaomi says it'll maintain their 5% profit margin due to selling customers data. That's a no no for me.

Think about what would happen if OnePlus or Xiaomi becomes as big as Samsung. They no longer would be able to afford aggressive pricing. Currently they don't invest much in R&D, instead they heavily rely on industry. OnePlus only works on its near stock OS and similarly Xiaomi on EMUI. Xiaomi has done some work towards bezelless future(Mi Mix series) but that's about it.

Wow. Analytics. Real. Not fake. And now let's look at Q2 2017 profit. $12.6 billion. So YtY we can see growth. As for me last Galaxy generation is really nothing (mostly) new, but let's say true - Samsung business is very far from falling and still showing impressive growth.
